I'm Moving

I could only wish that this blog post would be a little more exciting, like 'Hey, I'm moving to London' or 'Guess What? I'm going to America!' Unfortunately that isn't the case, but I am moving in with my partner and we are renting the most lovely 2 bedroom house with a massive garden for me to take all my blogging photographs. I've ordered my dressing table, packed most of my things and I'll be moving in next weekend. It feels weird that I'm almost 23 year old and this is the first time I have ever moved out of my parents house, but for the first time in my life I feel completely ready, I have the finances and I have a wonderful husband-to-be living with me.

Due to this little announcement, things may be slightly quiet over the next week, but then again I'm hoping to blog as much as I can and keep you all informed on everything that is going on. I can't wait to introduce you to all my house photos, including the way I will be laying out my makeup and of course now we have a big garden, I'll be doing a lot more outfit photos.

Benefit The Fine One One

A few weeks ago I wrote about my mini Benefit haul which included the Porefessional and the Fine One One, however at the time I wrote that review, I had actually misplaced this product. If anyone could see the extent of my makeup collection, you would understand how easy it is to buy and a product and it literally vanish in thin air. As I write this post, I feel like I'm suddenly going in the direction of an AA meeting - Yes, my name is Jessica and I'm a shopaholic. I often buy products and forget I even have them, it's shocking - I know. I need to reign in my addiction at some point, but it consumes me. The pretty nail polishes I can buy, the various shades of lipsticks even though I probably have the same pink colour replicated four times. As I've been packing my things to move house, I've been waiting for the words from partner: "Honey, it's me or the makeup." Surprising he hasn't said anything, which could only mean he's a keeper. He accepts me and all my makeup glory.

The Benefit Fine One One is a product that I've wanted to try for quite some time now and I have finally got round to buying it. If you haven't heard of the Benefit Fine One One, it is brightening cheek and lip trio which costs around £23. This product is perfect for any beauty emergency with its versatility to be used on different areas of the face and it has a fabulous compact size. There's no need to carry around highlighters, blushers and lipsticks when this product is around, it will do all that for you.

The product has three colours that can be swiped across the cheeks in one easy move and the button on the side enables you to switch the colours around to get various different effects. The product blends easily and the colours are gorgeous, with the pinks and corals included in this product, it makes a perfect makeup item for spring. Unfortunately the staying power for me isn't that great. I like colour on my cheeks that stays bright and lasts as long as my foundation, but this seems to disappear quite quickly. However, it's a great little product if you are looking for a softer and more subtle cheek glow and if anything, the packaging is absolutely stunning.

Have you tried the Benefit Fine One One?

Fancy Dress Fever

Today I was packing my items for when I move house and I came across a few of my fancy dress outfits. Fancy dress costumes are something I've always wanted a lot more of, but never really have the opportunity to buy. It seems that it is always my luck that my girls or the society I'm a part of have their fancy dress nights when I'm stuck at work or have alternative plans. I like the fun of trying on fancy dress outfits and spending hours of transforming yourself into someone different for the night. It can be quite liberating walking down the streets wearing a Wonder Woman costume on an evening, even if everyone else thinks you have gone completely mad. Of course, I would only do that if it was a party, not on my own...that would be worrying.

I recently came across the website Fancy Dress Ball which rekindled my love for fancy dress and had me wanting more outfits. With Valentines Day around the corner, maybe a few of you would be wanting to invest in a few outfits? If you're having a romantic night in with the man or even a fancy dress girls night out to forget about romance for the evening.

The site also has a fab new party planner app where you can create, share and plan your perfect fancy dress party. It works in four stages. Firstly, create your event. Whether it's your or someone's birthday, a hen do or might you might just feel like gathering a few friends and having some friends - the occasion is up to you. Secondly create the theme of your event, whether you love James Bond or have a passion for the 60s, you can work with Fancy Dress Fever to express your fancy dress desires. The final two stages are to invite your fun loving friends to your event and make the hardest decision of all, picking your outfit.

Admittedly I quite like the sexy style fancy dress costumes and I'm not one for something that is too eccentric. My favourites from this site has to be Officer Payne Costume as I love jumpsuits and anything that looks a little bit rock’n’roll, the nurse costume just because I've always wanted to own one and the Cougar costume because I have a soft spot for animal print.

At the moment my fancy dress collection isn’t that extensive. I have a Wonder Woman costume that I wore for my first ever pole dance performance and a Little Red riding hood outfit that I wore for Halloween as a duo with my partner – he was my big bad wolf. I suppose right now it’s me wanting to unleash my fun side and what better time to do it than during my last few months of university.

Roxy Ball Room Leeds

Yesterday was a really busy blogging day for me. Having spent most the day in Manchester helping out at the Empty Shop, I was then invited to Leeds to check out a new bar called The Roxy Ball Room. The Roxy Ball Room is an American style bar on the second floor of an old building in Leeds City centre. Before going to the bar, I had done no prior research and hadn't got a clue what to expect...apart from the brief hinting of ping pong balls.

The Roxy Ball Room is located above the Cafe Nero within great proximity to the train station, so those wondering about having a few drinks, but fear missing the train, it's the perfect location. Admittedly walking up the initial stairs it feels like you are walking into a seedy type of bar. The entrance is on a side street and the stairs don't give much away about the venue. Once I actually entered the room, my opinion dramatically changed. I was confronted by all these huge pool tables, a quirky style bar and the most ambient room lights. I was already allured by the atmosphere of this bar, before having my first drink. My initial thoughts? My partner would definitely like this place.

The bar is a little bit unconventional, having the beer behind the bar rather than on taps right in front of you. I like it. It makes the bar look more spacious,  you can see the bartender serving the drinks without having to bob your head too and throw and all in all, it was really well laid out.

Throughout the evening, we were treated to beautiful cocktails, wine and had access to the VIP lounge where we played ping pong whilst heavily under the influence of alcohol.  Honestly, add a bit of alcohol to a ping pong game and it can become quite aggressive. We had balls flying everywhere. During the evening, we also had a pep talk by the manager of The Roxy Ball Room. I enjoyed hearing about his plans and ambitions, how The Roxy Ball Room came about and his passion for this bar. He also showed us the new Roxy Ball Room menu which will be in action from Thursday this week. The menu consists of lots of doughy delights such as Pizzas and dough balls - true American style.

It was also lovely to meet lots of fabulous bloggers and meet the PR girls helping out with the Roxy Ball Room. I don't think I have belly laughed so much. The Roxy Ball Room has left me with an appetite for ping pong games and cocktails and although my experience of the Roxy Ball Room was rather short, I actually can't wait to go back and bring my man with me too.

The Empty Shop Manchester

During the Christmas period, I visited Manchester rather frequently and being from a small town and also being quite naive, I was in shock to see the amount of homeless people on the streets. It was a cold, blistery night when I was walking to Piccadilly rail station and four or five people approached me for change - all of which looked like they hadn't seen a warm fire or a slice of bread in months. What shocked me the most was coming across a frail old man with his pet dog beside him, it was raining heavily and he chose to cover the dog rather than himself. I searched my pockets for change and felt terrible that I had none. Upon returning home, I decided to write a post titled 'Spare a Thought This Christmas' as my way of promoting charities that help with homelessness.

Only a month or so later, I saw a shop being promoted on Twitter and asking for bloggers to help out. I had no idea what I was applying for, but offered my services. Shortly after a little bit of googling, I came across the concept of The Empty Shop and after seeing that they wanted to help homeless people in Manchester, I wanted to help out more than ever.

The Empty Shop currently located in the Manchester Arndale is based on a Brazilian idea, where a pop up shop is created and people bring their old clothing to be donated to charity - in this case, the local homeless charity The Mustard Tree. The clothes are then styled on Mannequins and displayed around the shop to convince other shoppers to donate clothes and also to show off the fabulous styles which can be created with second hand fashion. This idea began in Brazil, has since crept into Europe and now Manchester Arndale is the first place to have this in the UK. The Empty Shop were looking for bloggers to come down, promote the store and style the shop and mannequins in their own unique way.

Yesterday I headed to Manchester for a few hours to offer my help. By the time I had arrived there had already been one donation on that day, but the store looked rather empty. The mannequins had no clothes to wear and the shelves looked bare. By lunchtime, the shop began rapidly transforming as the clothes started coming in and filling out of all the empty space. We now had items to dress the mannequins and clothing to show the visitors to the Arndale.

The Empty Shop have been lucky to receive a great amount of high quality clothing from the general public. Knowing that charity shops can often get torn pieces of clothes thrown into bin bags, all the donations we received yesterday were from the likes of Zara, Topshop and even Ralph Lauren. A highly stylish young man that you could instantly tell shopped in high end stores such as Selfridges and Harvey Nichols, walked proudly into The Empty Store donating several bags full of items. Another man that came in brought several pairs of walking shoes and insisted that each pair was given to man on the streets rather than been sold in the charity shop. It was fantastic to see the generosity of the general public and knowing that by the end of the day, all these clothes would be taken away, sent to a charity shop and sold with all the profits helping those that need it the most within our own country.

It wasn't just the people of Manchester donating clothing to the store, brands within the Arndale and Manchester donated brand new goods, including online dress retailer Littleblackdress.co.uk. They donated some of the most beautiful evening wear from dresses with lots of sequins to others with beautiful polka dots and a bright red lace piece perfect for Valentines Day.

It wasn't just Little Black Dress that took to the charitable spirit, Ann Summers from the Arndale also donated a small selection of brand new underwear, all in colours perfect for Valentines Day and the upcoming months.

Someone passing by also dropped in a bag full of clothes and in the bottom of the bag were these beautiful Steve Madden shoes. They looked almost brand new and became a fantastic centre piece for the shelves behind the desk. I would have loved these shoes for myself if they wasn't a size 4 - they looked tiny, yet charming.

Unfortunately I had to leave in the middle of the afternoon, but as I left the shop was already looking full. It was amazing to see this empty shop being transformed in a matter of hours to a pop up store full of wonderful clothing. As I left the team told me that over the space of just a few days 95 people had donated to the charity and behind the desk, they had pictures of everyone to prove it. When I came home, I checked Twitter to find out that @Emptyshopmcr had finally hit the 100 donation mark and with the store still open until Sunday, I'm sure they will be getting many more.

If you are local to Manchester or if you are popping by the Arndale anytime soon, please take time out to donate clothing to the Empty Store where all the clothing will be delivered to the Manchester based charity The Mustard Tree for selling. I donated a few clothes yesterday and my time and I'm feeling so much better for it.

The Empty Shop is open from 9am - 8pm until Sunday 2nd February.

Pebble Grey Mirror

When it comes to my makeup case, the one thing I always forget to carry round with me is a mirror. I'd be lost if I forgot my foundation, I’d be sulky if my beloved lipstick wasn't with me at all times, but I always forget a mirror and end up using my phone camera. This usually makes me look silly as I look like I'm constantly trying to do selfies in a public place and secondly, the camera never really gives me a true visual of how I look, therefore my makeup can end up rather untidy.

Pebble Grey* has brought out a really cute compact mirror and I thought I ought to give it a try. The Pebble Grey mirror fits neatly into a handbag or clutch, has a lit up screen making applying makeup in a nightclub a whole lot easier and it comes in the most wonderful sophisticated box. In the near future I will be hosting a giveaway where you can win one of these beauties, so keep your eyes peeled.

My Latest Fragrances

Marni Rose

Perfumes to me are like drugs to a heroin addict. As much as I try to stop collecting them, I just end up with more. Every Time a new perfume is released I get majorly excited and end up rushing to the store and the majority of the time I end up buying it. I really cannot pinpoint where or how my how obsession began or even why. I just love playing around with perfumes and smelling pretty. Today I thought I would introduce you to my three latest perfumes, Marni Rose, DKNY Be Delicious and Michael Kors Sexy Amber.

The first on my welcome list is the Marni, Marni Rose perfume. Marni rose is from the Italian fashion house Marni and floral, fruity, musky, rose and warm spicy notes. Having read the description online, this probably wouldn't be the type of perfume I would have personally picked, but now having worn the fragrance it is probably one of the most beautiful perfumes I own. The scent and the bottle evoke a vintage vibe, the bottle has the most divine little polka dots and the scent has a light powdery air to it. It reminds me of the perfumes my grandma used to own, but not in a bad way. The Marni Rose feels like it has taken it's inspiration from vintage perfumes, but spiced it up. It's refreshing, vibrant and a joy to wear.

DKNY

I've wanted a DKNY fragrance for quite some time now, but it has always been relatively low on my wishlist compared to the likes of Jimmy Choo and Chloe. Recently I got my hands on the DKNY Be Delicious Fragrance with Benefits* and I'm now wondering why on earth I didn't try this sooner. The scent is fresh apple and unlike most perfumes, the Fragrance with Benefits promotes radiant and soft skin via the moisturising abilities in this product. The DKNY Be Delicious is a classic fragrance that many of us have grown to love over the years and to be honest, the scent isn't really me, but it's wonderful to use when I need a pick me up or need to feel refreshed.

Michael Kors Sexy Amber

The final newbie in my fragrance collection is the Michael Kors Sexy Amber. A few weeks back I did a review on the Michael Kors Jasmine and expressed my disappointment that I didn't think the product lasted long enough and it was rather weak. It's sister product Sexy Amber is a polar opposite. I think this may be due to the stronger notes of Amber and Sandalwood within this perfume. I find that this lasts longer than the Jasmine and also smells so much better. It may be down to personal preference, but this definitely is the product for me.

What is your favourite fragrance?

Valentine Outfit Suggestions

Sparkly dress

This year I don't really know what I'll be doing for Valentines Day. It's only a few days after me and my partner move house and the same weekend as London Fashion Week - I could be in London for all I know. One thing is for sure, I will definitely be dressing up for my man. I'm the type of girl that doesn't really need a special occasion to get dressed up. I would walk around my living room everyday wearing sparkly dresses and six inch heels if I got the chance. I would love nothing more than being able to go all 'Liverpool girl' going to the hairdressers and getting my hair done at ridiculous time in the morning, I love how much time they invest in looking good. I'm not superficial, but I believe that when you're looking good, you feel more confident. Even when I was a size 18 I felt like a million dollars after squeezing into a figure hugging dress and gliding on my favourite pair of heels. I didn't care back then whether it suited my figure or what other people thought, as long as I felt I personally looked good that's all that matters. I still feel the same way now I'm a more slender size 8.

Sparkly dress

Todays outfit suggestions are courtesy of Wearall.com* and Figguahugga.com*, two brands which I have come to fall in love with lately. I have been searching for the perfect dark glitter dress for quite some time now and when Wearall decided they would like to collaborate with me, I knew exactly which dress to choose. The Bella Sparkly Lurex Low mini dress is a perfect choice for Valentines day. It is figure hugging, yet really elasticated for if you have been taken out for a big meal and the sparkly pattern looks sophisticated. The scooped cutaway back is fab for showing off your shoulders and being a little bit flirty without showing off too much skin.

Sparkly dress

I'm rather delighted with this dress as I personally think it looks more expensive than it actually is. On the website this dress retails at £13.95 - how can you go wrong? If I had to be brutally honest about this dress, although it looks beautiful and rather exquisite, the fitting is of poor quality. The size 8-10 which I selected is rather big on me - though that is no fault of the supplier, but the sleeves have a tendency to slide down and the back is billowing. This could merely be down to my awkward body shape and in all fairness at £13 for a pretty fab dress, I'm sure I can find ways around it.

wearall.com

The second dress by Wearall.com is this wonderful little pink bandage dress that I would recommend to everyone. It fits like a dream, looks bright and snazzy for a night out on Valentines Day and replicates a lot of celebrity styles such as the classic Herve Ledger dresses. This dress is rather skintight and although I could have easily got away with a size smaller, I'm happy I opted for a size 10 so that I could fit my wonderful new Figgahuggas* underneath it.

Figgahuggas

If you haven't heard of Figguahuggas, they are a new slimwear brand focused on appealing to the younger generation. They understand that a lot of the slimming lingerie products on the market are quite unflattering for the younger lady and I for one am happy to wear something that looks young and vibrant rather than my pairs of 'Bridget Jones' style panties. Having lost a lot of weight as you all know, I have been left with a rather unflattering tummy. Whatever you would like to call it 'the mothers apron', the 'belly flap', the 'muffin top' it is there and unless I have surgery it is not moving. It is something that seriously affects my confidence on an everyday basis and finding clothing that looks flattering on my stomach, but in a size 8 is often a little bit difficult. Every now and then I resort to putting on my 'Spanx', but it still doesn't do a good enough trick. Figgahuggas are perfect for my body, they give me such a wonderful silhouette, make my stomach feel almost none existent and to me, it feels like an instant stomach tuck. I honestly cannot praise this brand enough, just one of their funky pink coloured dresses has transformed the way I feel about myself and at £50 a piece, they're cheaper and better for my health than going under the knife.

My Pin Up Beauty Leeds

My eyebrows are one of my pet hates. I find myself looking at them everyday thinking: "Why do they never look shaped properly?" or, "What would it take for them to look better?" My partner thinks I'm pretty silly and often says that my eyebrows look like everyone elses. They are just eyebrows. I have always wanted to experiment with eyebrow and lash tinting, but it's one of those things that I kept putting off and wondered whether it would ever be worth the money. It wasn't until recently that Lorna from My Pin Up Beauty Leeds got in touch with me and asked me if I would like to have it done, that I finally tried this treatment.

My Pin Up Beauty is a salon in the heart of central Leeds. The salon is comforting and surrounded by candles and pretty objects to make you feel at ease. When I met Lorna, the salon owner, we instantly gelled and she was really easy going making all the treatments I had done all the more worthwhile.

Whilst talking to Lorna, I felt that she knew exactly what I wanted. I wanted a colour that would match my hair and make eyebrows that looked more defined.  The entire process of having my lashes and eyebrows tinted, plus a final shape only took 40 minutes, which I originally thought would have been so much longer. A patch test was done prior to the treatment and when I arrived at the salon, the dye was quickly and efficiently applied. When I first looked into the mirror post-treatment, I couldn't believe the difference. My eyebrows looked bolder, more shaped and really enhanced my natural features. Overall, I'm incredibly happy with the service and contemplating going next time when my eyebrows start to regrow. I had a wonderful morning at Pin Up Beauty* with Lorna and I would definitely recommend anyone local to the salon to go test it for yourself.

What are your thoughts on eyebrow and eyelash tinting?

Lola and Grace Valentines Jewels

You may be wondering why I have a picture of my teddy bear holding the Lola and Grace jewellery I'm about to review? Well, since it's a little bit Valentines Day orientated with the heart jewellery, I thought I would introduce you to my first Valentine. Yep, this is the teddy bear that my grandma gave me when I was a little girl and I still have it in my bedroom. This teddy bear is probably about 30 years old, as my grandma had it a long time before I was born and there's also a male version of it with a green little bow tie. When I was younger I was inseparable with this teddy bear and I would take it everywhere with me. It was the first item that I ever really feel in love with.

Back to the jewellery, Lola and Grace launched in 2012 and is part of the Swarovski jewellery group. The Lola and Grace* brand exhibits glamour and sophistication, whilst portraying themes of romance and minimalism. Lola and Grace have stores in the Westfield, Blue Water and Brent Cross shopping centres in London and have a really lovely online store. Whilst looking for Valentines inspired items, I was approached by Lola and Grace and shown this beautiful heart shaped necklace and earring set. The set has sparkling pave crystal detailing and looks sweet and sophisticated when worn with any outfit. I love how much the jewellery shimmers in the lights and although the earrings and necklace are quite small, they really do make a statement with their exquisite design.

Lola and Grace are a brand where you can buy glistening swarovski jewellery for an affordable price. I love how detailed they look and I can see myself definitely wearing these on Valentines day.

What Makes You Beautiful: MUA One Direction Makeup

I can really imagine my friends faces when this post gets shared automatically onto my Facebook. One Direction Jessica, are you serious? It will be followed by a mass of questions as to why I like the band - which I don't really (only the odd song) and then suddenly someone will declare their love too and think I'm some kind of die hard. When I walked into Superdrug yesterday, I was searching for a bright blusher and a new lipstick. At the moment, I'm on a tight budget so I headed over to the place I knew I could get high quality makeup for a very affordable price - MUA.

One Direction makeup

I've been looking around for the last two weeks for affordable, good quality blushers and I came across this. The What Makes You Beautiful cheek tint is highly pigmented, in the perfect shade of pink for my skin tone and was 2 for £5 when I bought the One Direction lipstick. The packaging is quite pretty, although it does like ever so 'teenageish' and I'm probably a little bit too old, but it makes a cute item for my makeup case. When I have a little bit more money, I'm very tempted to go and buy a few more products.

One Direction makeup

When I was looking for products to buy, the first one that really caught my attention was the Kiss You lipstick in the shade 'I Wish' designed by Zayn. Bright lipsticks have always been my thing, I'm a little bit too obsessed with wearing them and I also have a slight obsession with collecting lipsticks from MUA. Combining the two, I knew I had to buy this.

One Direction makeup

This lipstick is for the bubble gum pink, girly lovers out there. It is lovely to wear, has quite a nice fragrance and applies really well. In fact, I don't think it smudged whilst I was wearing it and it definitely lasted a good few hours.

One Direction makeup

The lipstick itself is beautiful embossed with a naughts and crosses style pattern and the container is embedded with Zayn's signature, very similar to when MAC bring out collections. The container may feel cheap ( but what do you expect for paying £3?) but the product itself rivals some of biggest contenders in the lipstick market. In fact, I like this more than one of my MAC pink lipsticks.

Have you tried any of the One Direction MUA collection?

Buy me Gucci, Buy me Prada...

This blog post isn't really about Gucci or Prada, but I love the song Shopaholic by the Wideboys. Shopaholic is what I listen to when I'm feeling a little bit spontaneous and about to head out on a shopping spree. Whilst walking around Harvey Nichols last Saturday, I fell in love with the Burberry coat in the above image. I was like Rebecca Bloomwood with the emerald green scarf in Confessions of a Shopaholic, but unlike her, there was no way with even my credit cards maxed out I could afford this jacket. I stroked the soft leather sleeves and entwined my fingers in the luxurious silver clasps. My gaze stayed aligned with beautiful jacket until I left the department and on the way home, it was all I could talk about. My partner continued to roll his eyes wondering how on earth anyone could find a coat with the same price as second hand family car attractive. I tried to justify my love for high quality clothing, but all I was greeted with was the statement that I could go to Topshop and buy almost the entire womens section for that amount.

One thing that did make me giggle whilst walking around Leeds was that my partner said: "You walk around Harvey Nichols, Selfridges and Harrods like it's an art gallery or a museum". I  suppose they are my equivalent of the Tate Modern, I love fashion. Some people like art, staring at old artifacts (which I love doing both), but I also love walking around expensive clothing stores taking note of the precision cuts, the soft fabrics and elusive patterns.

All this talk inspired me to do a 'what if I was rich?' post. What if suddenly I went and bought 100 lottery tickets and suddenly won? What would I buy? Well I know exactly what the first things would be...after a house, a car and a 50ft yacht. I would buy this Burberry leather sleeve duffle coat that I couldn't take my eyes off for a start. I would love to wear this with a pair of leather pants and a pair of tall black heels - preferably those Christian Louboutins I have mentioned.

The second thing I would buy is the Mulberry Small Suffolk handbag. I love the timeless design and it's British heritage. This handbag would go with every outfit I own.

Makeup is something that I can afford, but right now having lost my job I don't necessarily have the budget to be going out and buying higher end brands. I would do anything for the Naked 3 palette as the colours really sum up my personality and style and the Chanel lipstick is the same one I lost a few months ago. The Chanel lipstick I used to wear nearly every day without fail.

Finally, I don't know a girl who wouldn't buy a pair of Christian Louboutins if she had the money. They are the most prestigious shoe brand out there and every single of CL's designs look timeless, versatile and god damn sexy. That's it, I'm definitely going to be trying my luck at the lotto this weekend and eagerly watching the Euro jackpot results*. Hopefully it will play in my favour.

If you won the lottery, what would you buy?

Neal and Wolf Ritual Duo

Quality haircare has always been something I regard as highly important on my shopping list. I remember starting hairdressing college at the age of 16 and my peers laughed when I said I used own brand conditioner (I still wouldn't rule some of it out). My tutors stressed daily about the importance of having good quality shampoo and conditioner 'it lasts longer' and 'it is better for you hair' they would repeatedly say. I was always told that cheaper shampoos and conditioners are usually diluted and they don't clean your hair as effectively. As I dabbled with more luxury brands I soon realised that they were right about some of the things they were saying. My shampoo did last a lot longer as I only needed a small amount, my hair felt softer and cleaner and I could wash my hair less if I wanted to and this is where my obsession with premium hair care began.

Last year I attended one of the FABB events in Leeds, it was an amazing day and when I came home I noticed that I was given one of the Neal Yard Shine Sprays in my goodie bag. It was the first time I was introduced to the brand and since then, I've become hooked on that shine spray. The newest assets to my Neal Wolf collection is the Rituals Shampoo and conditioner* set. The pair are wonderful to use. They gently scrub into the hair, smell beautiful and leave your locks nice and soft. I admit, I don't know whether my scent buds have been a little bit off, but the Conditioner doesn't smell that initially great, but once it's on and complemented with the shampoo it is wonderful. Neal and Wolf will always remain one of the top brands amongst the top of my haircare hero products and the Rituals shampoo and conditioner are a fabulous purchase for anyone wanting visibly softer hair.

Have you tried the Neal and Wolf Rituals Shampoo and Conditioner?

Brand in Focus: Zayah Jewellery

Gemstone jewellery has always been my guilty pleasure. It reminds me of going to Wales when I was younger - Barmouth to be exact and walking in what I would call the 'hippie stores'. My mum and dad would always allow me to go in as a holiday treat and pick out a little gemstone bracelet or a handful of gemstones in a little organza bag. It was something I always looked forward to. As I've got older, my appreciation towards gemstone jewellery has grown stronger. In a weird sense, wearing gemstone jewellery makes me feel connected with what is around me and to appreciate earths natural formations. You may feel like I'm going a little bit 'hippified' on you right now, but I'm that sort of person. I'm all for love and peace and plonk me in the middle of a field with a tent and campfire and I won't be worrying about my nails, I'll be getting out my guitar and singing campfire songs. It's what I grew up with, it's me.

My brand in focus today is Zayah Jewellery. Zayah* specialises in gemstone jewellery with all their experts trained by the Gemological Institute of America and the London School of Jewellery. The company are also registered with the British Jewellery Association ensuring that all their pieces are of a high quality and standard. All of Zayah jewellery is created by hand at the design studio in London on the River Thames and each piece is issued with a certificate of authenticity to prove that all your gemstones are genuine materials.

My favourites from the Zayah collection are the Serene Sea bracelet, the Ceres earrings, the Pink Pebbles bracelet and the Rhea earrings. Firstly, the Serene Sea bracelet reminds me of the spending time on my fathers boat. I've grown up as a sailors daughter, spending most of her time on the sea during my family holidays. I love everything about the seaside from the ice-cream to the smell of seaweed and the staring out at the ocean as I'm on the helm of the boat - it's idyllic, it's bliss. The second bracelet I love is the Pink Pebbles bracelet, I simply chose this because I'm very much a girly girl and I love the vibrant colour. Pink pastel shades are currently on trend at the moment and this bracelet is a perfect way to add colour to your outfit. The two earrings are have such wonderful colours - the pearls are delicately contrasted against the vibrant red and the turquoise and blue parts of the other pair reminds me of the earth.

If you are looking for some new jewellery or feel like treating a loved one Zayah is a brand you should consider. Not only do they make exquisite pieces like the ones I have mentioned, they also create custom designs suited to every budget.

Have you heard of Zayah jewellery?

I have always been a fan of candles and love nothing more than a night listening to my vinyl
player surrounded by incense and candlelight. It's my perfect idea of relaxation. A few of my first dates with my fiance consisted of a candlelit room and listening to the Beatles on Vinyl. We stayed up all evening talking about all the things we have in common and often these days we reflect back on those nights. I find that candles provide the ideal atmosphere for romance. There's something sensual about the sweet aromas in the eye and the light gently flickering in the distance and the warmth making you feel all snuggly and cosy. I've always been a fan of candles and so was my auntie - we used to spend phone calls discussing our collection and making it a competition who can get the most. She had a passion for collecting soaps, she had hundreds. It was me who used to win in the candle department. Unfortunately she died last year, but when I light candles I'm always reminded of her.

It's funny how candles can evoke such strong feelings and memories and this is why candles are exactly what you need on Valentines Day. They can calm and relax you, make everything feel at ease and most importantly, they look and smell fabulous. The latest candles added to my collection are the Marie Reynolds Ti Amo Duo*, a limited edition set brought out for Valentines Day.

Marie Reynolds Candles

The Ti Amo Duo arrive beautifully packaged in a white ribbon tied box and when you open the lid, you are greeted with pretty pink tissue paper and the most delicately fragranced white candles. As soon as you open the box you smell the blend of champagne and blackcurrant Passion candle- it smells so good, you would want to eat it if it was edible and the Ylang Ylang, Neroli and Bergamot scents of the Indulge. Both of the candles also contain Moroccan argan oil and shea butter, which when melted can be used as a body moisturiser,  massage oil or droplets for a luxury bath.

The creator behind these candles is Marie Reynolds, a Beauty Therapist for over 20 years specialising in the finest skin and body care products. If you don't believe me about how wonderful these products are, you may trust the professional.

When it comes to expressing my thoughts on these candles, I'm speechless and not in a bad way. I can not conjure up words good enough at describing these beauties. Candles that not only smell fantastic and look fantastic, they also double up a skincare treatment - I think it's love.

The pair can be bought for £30.95 from http://www.mrlcandles.com/

Molecule 01 Perfume

Molecule 01 perfume

As you have seen in the past, I'm a bit of a perfume addict. I believed that I had tried many types of perfume and knew my different scents. There are many types of perfumes I have tried in the past, but they are nothing like the Molecule 01.

Molecule 01 contains 'Iso E super' an aroma-chemical found in our bodies. The initial scent of the perfume is a base note of velty wood, but for a short time this will vanish. After a while, the scent will be replaced with your own unique fragrance, based on your personal pheromones. With Molecule 01s scientific formula, every person who applies the scent will be greeted with a completely different fragrance to anyone else. After a few hours of use, people had commented saying I was wearing a fresh floral scent and I noticed this myself. I had to laugh as ironically, this is the type of scent I usually go for.

I didn't really know what to expect when this little perfume arrived from Harvey Nichols on my doorstep, but overall I'm really happy. As someone that highly values perfume and loves collecting bottles, this is definitely a winner. The perfume arrived in a little black metal box and looked like something that is supposed to be top secret. Underneath revealed this beautiful little bottle. It isn't the prettiest on the shelf, but I quite like the simplicity. This perfume is all about the scent, not the look and it proves itself to be just as worthy as all the other beautiful perfume bottles I own on scent alone. I'm not sure whether the Molecule 01 is my favourite just yet, but it's a contender.

LuLu Guinness New Collection

Each week I always find myself looking at handbags that I can never really afford and Lulu Guinness has always been my 'bag porn' of the internet.  I love the quirky style, the luscious bright red lip clutches and currently I'm obsessing over the LuLu Guinness new collection which has lots of elegant pastel colours mixed with cream and gold.

The first handbag on the list is the new 'Small Izzy Satchel'. This so far is the most beautiful Lulu Guinness handbag I've ever seen. The handbag has a beautiful black lip clasp and black and white lined insides. It is made out of soft patent leather and would be a statement piece for any outfit.

Second on my Lulu Guinness wishlist and new collection reveal is the 'Patent Large Amelia'. I love really large shopping bags, especially when they can fit my Macbook in them. This Amelia handbag is not just spacious, it also has one of the top colour trends this season, pastel blue.

If I could buy a purse right now, it would definitely be the 'Stone Leather Large Envelope Purse'. I love how sophisticated the design is and the gold lip clasp. The purse has space for up to 9 cards - so if you're a shopaholic like me it's perfect and it has also large pockets for coins.

Finally, the 'Patent Large Paula' is perfect for those looking for a classic style handbag made by Lulu Guinness. The bag has plenty of room, a zip across the top and features the classic Lulu Guinness logo. This is the handbag to choose if you are looking for something to take to all types of occasions.

As much as I want to say I'll be buying one of these handbags, it's looking very unlikely at the moment. Today I was shocked by the news that I have been made redundant and lost my job. It's a sad state of affairs, but I couldn't thank my boss and his wife enough for the amount of work and support they have given me the last few months. I may be a little bit penniless for the next few months whilst I get back on my feet, but I'm sure they'll be other opportunities. I have brought this mainly to your attention as I will be accepting more advertising and sponsored posts over the next month or so as I literally have no other form of income and all my student loan has gone on housing. I hope you can understand as soon as I get more money, things will be different.

Which Lulu Guinness handbag would you choose?

Clinique Chubby Stick Review

Clinique chubby stick

I'm always one of the last people to jump on the latest trends or makeup bandwagons. I've been going in and out of my local Boots and House of Fraser for months contemplating buying one of the Clinique Chubby Sticks, but I just never got round to it. It always slipped my mind or when I remembered I didn't have £17 to spend on a lip product. Last week my partner gave me a House of Fraser gift card and told me to treat myself. I spent the majority of it on a French Connection jumper which was on sale and the remaining £5 I finally invested on one of the most highly regarded lip products within beauty blogging for the last year.

clinique chunky cherry

According to the Clinique website "Chubby Stick Moisturising Lip Colour Balm is a lip treatment with sheer colour that relieves dry, cracked lips and provides immediate mositurisation. The unique pencil-style applicator provides an easy to apply sheer soft lip colour and rolls up for ease of use." The last few weeks i've been suffering from really dry lips and this was probably the reason I surrendered to buying one of these products.

Having browsed the Clinique stand for more than half an hour trying to decide which colour I wanted, I finally decided to go with Chunky Cherry. I really like soft pink lip colours and I was looking for a product that I could wear on a daily basis and would go with most of my outfits. As soon as I tried the Clinique Chubby Stick I noticed that my lips were instantly softer and smoother. The painful cracking seemed to settle down and the colour looked simple, yet pretty. After a few days of use, my lips were in a better condition and I still had not got over how beautiful the colour is. If there was one downfall about this product, it would be that the taste seems too waxy for my liking. After 10 minutes it does settle down and seems non-existent, but the initial application takes some getting used to.

Chubby sticks are available from Clinique counters or online at £17. I honestly think this is a little bit too steep for this product, especially when other companies are making replicas for three times as less and just as good. Nevertheless, I do love the Clinique brand as a whole so I'm more than likely to buy a few more of them.

Have you tried any Chubby Sticks yet?
