My new favourite...blazer!

I have mentioned it in a previous post, but I can't get enough of this mustard yellow blazer that I recently bought from River Island (£39.99). The colour is bang on trend and with Britain being in the full swing of summer, this little item is incredibly versatile.

Please excuse the imagery as I know I'm not very model-esque (although like most girls, I wish I was a model). This blazer was teamed up with a cute chiffon top for a daytime look. It could be great for work or playtime and I accessorized it with a necklace I recently won in a magazine, made by the lovely Zara Taylor.

For the evening, I swapped my dark blue jeans for a black velvet dress...

I can't explain how much I love this, although I doubt it will ever replace my favourite leather jacket, but it comes close.

Hope you're all having a fab weekend!

Me Me Me Cosmetics

Today happened to be one of those spontaneous trips to town, which resulted in a lovely swim and then a little bit of shopping. I haven't been in Superdrug for a while and I had the urge to buy something. To be honest, my cosmetics draw is getting relatively full, but it didn't stop me and I came home with a few lovely items.

The first thing I bought was this absolutely gorgeous product by MeMeMe cosmetics, which is the "Seventh Heaven" moisturising face base. On the first impression, the box looked lovely and when I opened it I loved the little container it came in, it looked vintage esque and I couldn't wait to smell what was inside. When I opened it, it smelt lovely. As soon as the lid is lifted, you can instantly smell the citrus fusion of lemons, limes and oranges, which is quite refreshing if you're using it as a 'pick me up' first thing in the morning.

average price is £15

According to the packaging the product is "Rich yet light weight and is enriched with Shea butter, Vitamin A and Beta-carotene to rejuvenate, nourish and hydrate skin". When I first felt the texture of the product, I was worried that it was a little bit thick and it would feel too heavy against my skin, but I was wrong and like the package explained, it felt really light weight. Once the product was applied, I could smell the citrus fruits for quite awhile and it was really nice and refreshing. This product is a face primer and it did it's job brilliantly, my makeup applied really easy and overall I was really happy with the results. I'll definitely be trying more MeMeMe products in the future.

I also bought this cute little shirt from a charity shop today for £2. I'm trying to apply for lots of jobs at the moment, so I guessed this could come in handy - plus it looks lovely paired with a nice pair of shorts for the summer.

Anyone else been shopping today?

College Presentation

I've just got home from a lovely end of year presentation evening at college. The last 2 years seem to have flown by and I can't believe that in a few months I will be a university studying journalism. I can't explain how excited I am, but I will miss all my college mates a lot and I am hoping I will stay in contact with the majority of my class.

I also got my grades back recently and discovered I have achieved three distinctions, which equals to 3 A's a A level. I'm so happy right now.

What I wore

Makeup
Benefit play stick Foundation
Benetint on my cheeks
NARS orgasm illuminator
MAC Chatterbox lipstick
Lancome hytnose mascara
Boots botanics eyeshadow

Outfit
A dress by Jarlo London that I recently won
Michael Michael Kors shoes

One of my lovely best friends also bought me this really cute jewelry box as a leaving present, from a local charity shop. It's so cute! I can't wait to tidy my room so I can put it to good use.

Yet again I'm sorry about the photography, my camera should be working again soon.

Have you all had a lovely day?

xoxo

Jemma Kidd Lipgloss

Whenever I see a freebie in a magazine, I always have to get it and this months Red magazine was no exception. If i had to shortlist my favourite magazines, Red would be right at the top with Marie Claire, due to it's interesting and intellectual articles and the whole layout of the magazine. Maybe another reason I love this magazine is because Red seems to be my favourite colour too...

Julys Red magazine (which is on sale now) comes with this beautiful Jemma Kidd lipgloss, which is available in 3 different colours. I've never tried any products from the Jemma Kidd range, but I'm definitely impressed by the quality of this gloss.

In the tube, this lipgloss is a tangerine shade and I thought it would come out quite bright, but I was pleasantly suprised at how natural it looks when it is applied.

The lipgloss isn't sticky like most lip glosses I have tried, instead it slides on effortlessly and stays on pretty well.

At £3.80 for a lip gloss that is usually £14, I'd definitely grab a bargain. It's worth it!

Festival Fashion - What will you be wearing?

It's 9 days until my favourite weekend of the year - Download Festival and words can't describe how excited I am. This week I will probably be starting my packing and yet again, I will begin the tremendous battle between my wardrobe and suitcase when deciding what to wear.

Here are a few of my current ideas:

Unleashing the Inner Rock Chick

Festivals are probably one of the best times to experiment with your style. In this photo, I'm channeling my inner rock chick. Here I am wearing my River Island leather jacket, Karen Millen silk top, a studded belt and some wet look leggings.

Grunge
Festivals are a great time to exhibit all those band t shirts that have been residing in your the bottom of your cupboard - well, that's what happens to mine. I tend to go band shirt crazy when I go to festivals and buy lots of them, but most of the time they tend to be wardrobe souvenirs. In this picture I'm wearing my Aerosmith t-shirt from when I saw them last year, my River Island shorts and my studded belt again.

Preppy 70s
And finally, with all them retro bands playing, may be you want to transport yourself to the 70s bohemian trend. You can't go wrong with a pair of staple denim shorts and this lovely top from River Island.

Just remember to follow these key points:

Keep it light weight - your going to be in and out of busy crowds and it's bound to get warm.

Take a jumper and waterproofs - It may get cold on a night and there is a slight chance you could get soaked in a random downpour.

Cheap is Chic - Don't go to a festival wearing incredibly expensive clothes - your likely to damage them and/or get them covered in mud. Opt for some cool inexpensive items.

And finally remember...

Whatever your style, wear it with confidence.

Festivals are about having fun, not worrying about how you look.

xoxo
