Time to refresh

Exams are finally over and it's time for me to give time and effort back to my body. When you're under pressure, your body feels it too - from spots, bags under the eyes due to sleep deprivation to weight gain, weight loss and the general feeling of lethargy.  My face has been worse hit. I've come out with spots which I've never really had before and my eyes look like they have been punched black. I'm hoping the hours I've put into my work will eventually pay off and now it's time to do the same for my body. The first thing I've been doing to get my body back in shape is going to the gym quite frequently as I've gained 5lbs...this isn't much to most people, but it's making me feel uncomfortable.  I'm guessing this is most likely due to comfort eating my way through politics revision. I've been feeling so much better after swimming each day and getting my body into the rhythm of exercise. I love the feeling of endorphines and being energised when I get home.

On a morning to help my skin, I've been doing lately is using this Vitamin serum to inject some life back into my face.  The Dermaviduals DMS Vitamin Serum is full of vitamin's A, C, E and D, which help promote healthy skin.  I've found the product rather light, refreshing and very easy to use.  Many of my dry skin patches are vanishing away, but I think I will need to use this product a little bit longer than I have been doing to see better results.

Finally, I've been using a nude nail polish to make me look healthy and preened.  I love this ZOYA nail polish in shade Bela. The colour makes my nails look naturally groomed and it goes with many of my outfits. I find that the nail polish applies really easily and dries easily too, making this a perfect mini investment. The nail polish is £10.50 to buy, which I think is a pretty good value for this brand. I already prefer this product to my Nail Inc polish in the same colour, even though Nail Inc are one of my  favourite brands.

Valentines Essentials

Valentines day is just around the corner and I thought I'd introduce you to some items I would consider 'Valentines Essentials'. When it comes to the big day, you'll want to be pampered, primed and looking your absolute best for date night. Therefore it's essential those cracked lips are banished, those hands are soft enough to hold and that your skin smells like a bunch of roses.

QSilica Paw Paw Rescue Ointment - £8.95

QSilica Paw Paw rescue ointment is perfect for banishing those chapped winter lips. We have recently been exposed to so much cold weather, so our lips are probably not in the best condition. Chapped lipstick isn't a good look and trust me - I've been there, done that. The paw paw ointment has a mixture of active ingredients to help hydrate and protect against moisture loss,  moisturise the lips, help boost collagen levels and with calendula extract, it can help heal cracked or broken skin. The balm is multi-purpose and can be used on your lips. At £8.95 you can have a variety of skin care needs in just one bottle.

Green People Help is at Hand Gift set £12.95
My hands are always the first to show signs of the cold weather, often resulting in cracking skin and really sore finger tips. Having arthritis also means my hands can sometimes seize up, which isn't a pretty sight. Moisturising is one thing that helps my hands through the winter months and recently I've been finding the Green People Help is at Hand kit rather useful.  The set comes with two organic moisturise gloves and the product. When you go to bed, it's advised that you apply a generous amount of lotion and cover with the gloves. When you wake up in the morning , you're hands are refreshed and soft as a babies bottom. I love this little kit. It's a wonderful evening indulgence and I feel rather glamorous applying my lotions and potions. My hands are in such a better condition right now, but I admit, I always grow tired of evening routines so I'm hoping that I can stop being lazy and continue to see results.

Woods of Windsor True Rose Body Power £8.99

To complete your body/skin over haul, you should definitely check out Woods of Windsor true rose body powder. I'm a fan of anything vintage and this little product reminds me of something that would be on my grandmas dressing table. She always had such a fabulous range of cosmetics and skin care, definitely favouring the higher end products or bottles that had unique, pretty packaging. True Rose body powder looks like it belongs in a vintage ladies boudoir with elegant bottles and crystals. The packaging is classic and pretty and the product scent evokes a sense of a bed of roses.

Lush Haul

There's nothing like a Lush haul to scrub all those negative winter blues out of the way. Eco-friendly and not tested animals, you really can't go wrong. These fabulous products recently made their way to my house and I've been so excited about reviewing them.

Snow Fairy
This Limited edition shower gel is everything a girly-girl like me needs during their bath time. The product is bright pink in colour, with a hint of sparkle and it smells like fruity bubblegum. My skin feels softer and the feel lasts quite a long time - this would make a perfect treat for the Autumn.

Twilight Shower Gel

If you're hooked on sparkly vampires, this is probably catered to your personality. You can unleash your dark side with this blende of lavender and malt. Made to be used during the 'Twilight hours', this product apparently can help you drift off to sleep - although I haven't tried it,  the scent feels incredibly soothing and relaxing, so I can potentially see this happening in the future.

Ponche
Out of all the shower gels I've received, this scent is my least favourite. As the description states, the product does in fact gives off the impression of being bright, boozy, fruity and uplifting, however it feels a little bit too tangy for my liking and the Tequila element reminds me of too many bad nights out. Like all the other products, however the product does feel soft and weightless on your skin and if the scent sounds like something you would like, you could always try it yourself.

Popcorn Lip Scrub

I collected my Lush parcel on the way to work and the girls got really excited about what I had been sent, so during our break we opened it all and did lots of playing around.Having seen reactions from all the girls, I've noticed we've had quite a few mixed responses with this product. I really like it, but my friend thinks that it tastes too salty...although when I told her to take a sprinkle of the product, she took a teaspoon sized amount and covered her lips in it - no wonder it tasted on the salty side. If you sprinkle a very light dusting on your lips, I've noticed that my taste buds instantly deciphered the sweet scents, before melting into a buttery caramel taste and my friend got the opposite. We both agreed after our little dispute, that the product does work really well and later that day, we both had soft nourished lips.

Let The Good Times Roll

I haven't tried this product yet, but my Lush haul post seemed incomplete without mentioning it. Let The Good Times Roll is a maize and polenta based facial cleanser. Having tried a tiny bit on my hand, I realised that the product feels rather soft so I can't wait to see the results. I love the added bit of popcorn in the product too - I can easily imagine having a girls night in with a movie and using this cleanser.

What do you think of Lush? Have you tried any of these products?
