Ciate Advent Calendar: Day 2

Having played with my first Mini Mani Ciate polish yesterday, I really couldn't wait to see what was behind the next door. I really wanted a nice bright colour to add to my collection and something I can potentially wear over the next week to a bloggers meetup I'm attending.

Today's little present from Ciate was the Ciate Mini Boudoir with the message 'Don't let anyone ever dull your sparkle.' Honestly, I think that message would have probably been better with the previous polish I received, but nevertheless Ciate granted my wishes and gave me a wonderful bold colour.

The Ciate Boudoir is a pinkish red that would go fabulously with a santa inspired outfit. I'm a big fan of red colours and this definitely ticks all the boxes for me.

So far I've received two wonderful nail polish colours - Snowflake and Boudoir, I can't wait to open my door tomorrow.

Ciate Advent Calendar: Day 1

A few months ago many of you will remember that I wrote a post about the Ciate Mini Mani month Calendar I bought - that was way back in October and although it feels like yesterday, it's now time to open my first door. For those of you not acquainted with the Ciate Mini Mani month, it's a Christmas advent calendar but with nail polish instead of chocolate. Perfect for those who are looking after their diet and those who have a lust for nail polish like myself. This advent calendar was purchased from the QVC site for approximately £37 back in October, although there's many variations from sites such as Selfridges and the Ciate website.

Behind the first door of my Ciate Mani Month was the a beautiful message 'There's no better feeling than making somebody smile' and the gorgeous little Ciate Mini bottle of the aptly Christmas named 'Snow Globe'. Snow Globe is one of Ciates many elegant top coats and this one is made from sprinklings of holographic flakes. This nail polish evokes the sense of Christmas and is the perfect start to my advent calendar.

I can't wait to see what is behind door two.

Do you have any beauty calendars this year? What did you get?

Valentines Essentials

Valentines day is just around the corner and I thought I'd introduce you to some items I would consider 'Valentines Essentials'. When it comes to the big day, you'll want to be pampered, primed and looking your absolute best for date night. Therefore it's essential those cracked lips are banished, those hands are soft enough to hold and that your skin smells like a bunch of roses.

QSilica Paw Paw Rescue Ointment - £8.95

QSilica Paw Paw rescue ointment is perfect for banishing those chapped winter lips. We have recently been exposed to so much cold weather, so our lips are probably not in the best condition. Chapped lipstick isn't a good look and trust me - I've been there, done that. The paw paw ointment has a mixture of active ingredients to help hydrate and protect against moisture loss,  moisturise the lips, help boost collagen levels and with calendula extract, it can help heal cracked or broken skin. The balm is multi-purpose and can be used on your lips. At £8.95 you can have a variety of skin care needs in just one bottle.

Green People Help is at Hand Gift set £12.95
My hands are always the first to show signs of the cold weather, often resulting in cracking skin and really sore finger tips. Having arthritis also means my hands can sometimes seize up, which isn't a pretty sight. Moisturising is one thing that helps my hands through the winter months and recently I've been finding the Green People Help is at Hand kit rather useful.  The set comes with two organic moisturise gloves and the product. When you go to bed, it's advised that you apply a generous amount of lotion and cover with the gloves. When you wake up in the morning , you're hands are refreshed and soft as a babies bottom. I love this little kit. It's a wonderful evening indulgence and I feel rather glamorous applying my lotions and potions. My hands are in such a better condition right now, but I admit, I always grow tired of evening routines so I'm hoping that I can stop being lazy and continue to see results.

Woods of Windsor True Rose Body Power £8.99

To complete your body/skin over haul, you should definitely check out Woods of Windsor true rose body powder. I'm a fan of anything vintage and this little product reminds me of something that would be on my grandmas dressing table. She always had such a fabulous range of cosmetics and skin care, definitely favouring the higher end products or bottles that had unique, pretty packaging. True Rose body powder looks like it belongs in a vintage ladies boudoir with elegant bottles and crystals. The packaging is classic and pretty and the product scent evokes a sense of a bed of roses.

So what do you think of the products? Would you try any of these?
