Throwback dresses with New Look

Every girl has a dress in their wardrobe that they can rely on for any occasion. I have lots of favourite dresses from my trusty little red dress for nights out to my little pink dress for the summer. Although I regard many dresses in my wardrobe highly, my favourite dress has to be this little printed number Fashion Union.

From the moment I slipped it on I knew this would be a firm contender for my everyday outfit planning. The dress fits like a dream and exhibits a 60s style vibe that I truly adore. The pattern is wonderful and the colours are striking, yet subtle. When I uploaded this image to my social media, it caused a frenzy with my friends, many asking where to buy it. A few months later and I am still getting compliments about this little beauty.

New Look have launched their latest blogger campaign which focuses around the search for a new perfect dress and after hours of browsing through their gorgeous collection, I decided to pick this one up. The pattern is gorgeous and summery and the off the shoulder cut is delicate and feminine. Yet again, this dress (link*) features a vintage style floral pattern and the pink hues that run throughout the garment echo the feel of spring. Unfortunately I doubt this will turn into one of my throwback dresses as this dress accentuates my hips slightly too much, but for a summer holiday dress - this is absolutely perfect.

Madam Rage Dress

Since getting my hair colour changed, I have noticed that I have needed to slightly re-assess my wardrobe to match my new style. Dark colours don't look as good on me anymore and boring none patterned clothes do nothing to compliment my hair. My wardrobe has been filled with lots of patterns, bright colours and new summer dresses. I feel like a completely new woman and enjoying experimenting with my style.

To help with my style reinvention I was sent this gorgeous dress by Madam Rage (link*) to show you here on the blog. When it first arrived I was a little bit worried as they sent me a size 12, despite only being a size 8, but teamed up with a little waist belt, it makes the perfect summery baggy dress.

I am currently in love with the blue, orange and white colours running through this dress and I really like the way it warms my skin tone. The Madam Rage Slouch Print Dress is available from the Madam Rage website priced at £24.99.

Feeling Blue: Laundry Boutique

Lately I have been a little bit obsessed with the colour blue and when I saw this amazing dress on the Laundry Boutique* website, I knew I had to have it. This Cobalt Blue Leopard Bodycon Dress is perfect for those wanting to embrace print pattens this season and the mix of cobalt and baby blue blends in with the current pastel trends.

I love this dress as it gives you the most perfect hourglass silhouette and hides the areas you feel most self conscious about with its strategic lighter print in the centre and dark along your bodies curves. The material is stretchy, but not too stretchy that it gives you too much excess material. This dress is a size 8 and fits my body perfectly, in fact there is plenty of breathing space. On my 5ft2 little body, the dress sits nicely above my knees and does not look too long on me, something that often causes concern when I shop for midi bodycon dresses.

If you still feel a little bit self conscious in this dress, you can opt for shape wear that will help enhance your figure further and give you a smooth contour. I have recently fallen in love with this Naomi & Nicole Luxurious Shaping Torsette slip*. The garment is made from soft fabric and is designed with a seamless front to provide elegant shaping. If you are looking for tummy, back-fat and hip control, this is perfect for you. I don't always need shaping underwear, but when I feel like my fat days are getting the better of me and I need a little bit more support, this nude slip feels like my comforting best friend.

If you love this dress as much as I do or feel like making a sneaky purchase at The Laundry Boutique, use the code Forevermissvanity10 and you can get 10% off. This code is valid for 6 months.

Boxing Day Outfit: Angel Eye Fashion

The Christmas period is almost over and we are nearing the end of 2013. It seems like this year has literally flown by and the last few days have gone so quick they've left me feeling hazy. I had a wonderful Christmas with the in-laws and spend most of boxing day with my parents and close family friends. It's been a rather quiet Christmas compared to the past and I've worked more days than usual due to my new job. Nethertheless I've been determined to make every moment count and I've loved dressing up over the Christmas period.

A few weeks ago I was approached by a company called Angel Eye Fashion* about doing a review on my blog for them. When they introduced me to their fabulous line of clothes, I really couldn't wait to see what their dresses looked like in real life. As much as I am a visual person, I love being all touchy feely with clothing. I love feeling all the different fabrics and pressing them against my skin to feel the softness.

The dress I choose is quite fitted, formal looking and really helps enhance my curves. My favourite high street clothing lines are Zara, Ted Baker and French Connection and this dress seems very reminiscent of their styles. I ordered the dress in a size 8 and it fits me perfectly with breathable space and so far, having worn this dress to numerous family and friends events I've had quite a lot of compliments. This Angel Eye dress is absolutely beautiful and in all honesty, the quality is far better than I expected. I could see this dress being worn over and over again in various different outings. The dress is classic, versatile and would really be an asset to any wardrobe.

You can browse the Angel Eye collection on their website, via Twitter or keep up to date with them on Facebook. Shortly I'll be announcing an Angel Eye fashion giveaway so that you can be owning your very own piece of Angel Eye clothing in the New Year.

Vogue Fashion Night Out OOTN: Chi Chi Clothing

It has been three days since Vogue's Fashion Night Out, but I'm still talking about it like it was yesterday. I had so much fun and it was really the first time in quite awhile that I managed to network with some fellow bloggers. My dress seemed to catch quite a lot of attention on the night and the main question I was asked was:'Where did you get that dress?'

Firstly, I apologise for my 'selfie' photographs. My fiance is usually my photographer when it comes to outfit of the day, but we've been so busy with other work commitments that I had to do them myself.

Back to the dress, this wonderful ombre effect maxi is from the Chi Chi clothing range and it's called the 'Dionis'. I found the dress a delight to wear and not only is it beautiful, it's incredibly comfortable. Unfortunately when the dress arrived it was far too long on me, but it was quickly sorted by my mother and her sewing machine. If you're nearer five foot nothing, than six foot I'd definitely say be cautious when it comes to the length of this dress. There are many tailors around that would be happy to alter the dress for a small cost, but with this dress retailing at £40 it's an added cost to bear in mind. Nevertheless, I love this dress and now it's altered I can wear it effortlessly everyday if I desired.  The colouring is eye catching and you're bound to grab attention wearing it. The dress is bang on trend for autumn and I love how the orange reminds me of the autumn leaf colours.

Over all, I really think this is a fabulous quality dress. My first experience with Chi Chi clothing wasn't the best, but having had another opportunity to try them, they've definitely won back my appreciation for the brand.

Chi Chi Dress

Since I got back from Ibiza, I've been feeling pretty down. The sunshine isn't anything like being abroad over here and going away for a week or two always makes home seem rather bland. Luckily the sun has been shining and attempting to raise my spirits, giving me the chance to show off my new dress from Chi Chi clothing. I love the lace bodice and the cobalt blue skirt. It evokes a 1950s playful vibe and looks amazing whilst your sipping cocktails at all those garden parties.

If there has to be one criticism towards the dress, it's that the skirt feels too big to wear during the day. The skirt embodies a fully netted skirt that really flares out. For me personally, it felt a little bit too over the top for the average day to day skater dress, but I can see it looking amazing on a night out.

One of my favourite aspects of the dress is the cute little bow finishing on the back. In this picture it's kinda go a little wonky, but nevertheless looks really pretty. The overall price for the dress is £49.99 and I think it's a great price for something that really is nice quality. Would I purchase again? Definitely.

♥ 2012 Wishlist ♥

2012 is supposed to be my year of saving, not splurging and to control my spending habits, I have created a beautiful wish list. Hopefully in creating my wish list, it will point me towards the items I would actually like to buy, rather than impulse buying, but I can't make any promises on that front. I also hope to save at least £1000 of my University loan, so that in the future it can be invested into work experience or something career related. This University year so far, I've already managed to save £500, so I'm hoping I'll be a good student in 2012.

Going back to the wish list, the items I have chosen are classic pieces that I'm sure will look brilliant in my wardrobe for the next few years, providing I don't gain or lose too much weight.

The first item I would very much like is this coat from Urban Outfitters. This is a timeless design that very much reminds me of the 1940s. I'm obsessed with old Hollywood actresses and I could really imagine seeing this coat. The fur cuffs and neck trim make this coat all snuggly and warm and provide a vintage-esque appeal. At £135, this coat isn't exactly cheap, but I'm sure it will remain in my wardrobe for years to come.

In 2011 I lost almost six stone and reinvented myself. The only bad thing about this experience is renewing my wardrobe. It is every girls dream of shopping once you have lost a lot of weight, but it can be quite pricy in the long run. Ever since I started my weight loss, I told myself I would treat myself to some lovely expensive underwear once I had lost the weight and I've always wanted to try the 'Agent Provocateur' brand. I can now say that I have purchased some underwear in the sales and it's making it's way to me as I speak and I'll be doing a review once it arrives.

I have to say that as of late, New Look have really upped their game in the shoe department and not only do they create beautiful shoes, they are really comfy too! I would love to buy these shoes from New Look as they so elegant and have a beautiful Christian Louboutin style. These babies are £59.99, but on the plus side, I can get student discount...

White is such a classic colour and admittedly, I barely own anything that is cream or white, so this dress would be perfect. Every dream dreams of having a Marilyn Monroe moment and this dress could be the one for me. I have many dresses in this style, so I know that it will suit me. This dress is from River Island and it's £35.

I know these days it seems that every girl and her dog has a Louis Vuitton handbag, but the design is classic, the handbags are beautifully made and to be honest, it is something I could see me using on a regular basis. This April will be my 21st birthday, so I'm hoping to treat myself to this beautiful bag with my birthday money and savings.

I'm currently on a make-up ban after realising my collection is taking over my bedroom. I still have many items left to blog about and i'll probably do a collection post very soon.

What's in your 2012 wish list?

College Presentation

I've just got home from a lovely end of year presentation evening at college. The last 2 years seem to have flown by and I can't believe that in a few months I will be a university studying journalism. I can't explain how excited I am, but I will miss all my college mates a lot and I am hoping I will stay in contact with the majority of my class.

I also got my grades back recently and discovered I have achieved three distinctions, which equals to 3 A's a A level. I'm so happy right now.

What I wore

Makeup
Benefit play stick Foundation
Benetint on my cheeks
NARS orgasm illuminator
MAC Chatterbox lipstick
Lancome hytnose mascara
Boots botanics eyeshadow

Outfit
A dress by Jarlo London that I recently won
Michael Michael Kors shoes

One of my lovely best friends also bought me this really cute jewelry box as a leaving present, from a local charity shop. It's so cute! I can't wait to tidy my room so I can put it to good use.

Yet again I'm sorry about the photography, my camera should be working again soon.

Have you all had a lovely day?

xoxo
