Shoppaholic.

These last few weeks have been very hectic, but I wouldn't change them for the world.  I came back from London a week and a half ago, I've been arranging my engagement party and sitting my exams. The only thing that's got me through the last few weeks has been a dose of retail therapy and I thought i'd share my recent purchases.

Firstly I bought these beautiful oversized sunnies from Whistles. I've been desperate for a nice pair of sunglasses for quite awhile, but never got round to buying any. It's such a shame the recent burst of sunshine has vanished.

This is the Rimmel Lycra Pro French Rose nail polish. I decided to buy this so that my nails looked healthy and neatly polished as I showed my family my engagement ring. The nail polish has now been on over a week and has barely chipped, this has to be one of my favourite nail polishes I own.

This dress was purchased from River Island with one of my birthday vouchers. I love the pastel pink and it's bang on trend!

I bought this bag from Oxford Circus Topshop and I love it. It's a Marc B handbag and it fits all my university folders.

These shoes were bought from the Topshop department in Selfridges - I'm still in love with my pastel pinks, the studs add a little bit of edge to the shoe and the chunky heel makes the shoe so easy to walk in!

Finally I managed to get my hands on my favourite perfume, the self named Roberto Cavalli perfume. With lingering scents of citrus and vanilla, this perfume manages to stay on all day and for £35, I think it's value for money.

Select Specs - Channel Your Secretary Chic

I've been wearing glasses since I was 8 years old and as I've grown older, I've noticed how expensive wearing glasses can be. This can often result in reluctance from people to buy new glasses or even get their eye sight checked. Eye health is incredibly important and the earlier you get them checked, the less strain you are putting yourself through. When 'Select Specs' approached me about doing a blog post saying that they offer cheap prescription glasses from £6, I couldn't say no.

Select Specs are the cheapest prescription glasses in the world at £6 per pair. This is amazing value considering other glasses retailers charge £60 and above. My recent glasses cost me £120 and although I love them, it is a steep price for a student or a family on a budget.

There's many different styles of glasses you can choose from: fashion glasses, geek glasses, cheap ray bans, discount sunglasses and even Gok Wan style glasses - the possibilities are endless. Even if you don't wear glasses and you're looking for a new and exciting accessory, Select Specs can give you glasses with clear lenses.

I chose the Savannah glasses in black as I thought they looked vintage and quirky - exactly what I look for when selecting glasses.  When buying cheaper glasses, you expect the equation to be price over quality, but these glasses seem very well designed and sturdy. I feel like these glasses are more secure than the glasses I spent lots more money on.

If you're itching to unleash your inner secretary or wanting to experiment with your style, Select Specs currently has a competition running so that you can win a pair of fabulous designer sunglasses. If you're after a lovely pair of Ray Bans for your summer holiday or looking for some cool police glasses - enter straight away, the competition ends 23/04/2012 at 23.59.

London: The Big Surprise

The weather in London was absolutely beautiful this weekend, the sun was shining and the skies looked crystal clear. Me and my partner went down for sight seeing and a weekend away to celebrate my 21st birthday, little did I know, a surprise was lurking around the corner.

We arrived in London after a 6 hour travel at 10am Friday morning. James had never been to London before, so I decided to take him on an open air bus tour.  The tour gave him a thorough insight into the city of Westminster, the City of London and all the sights - it was a perfect day for the travelling.

During the tour we stopped off at a few places, one of which being Buckingham Palace.  The area was incredibly busy and bustling with different personalities and accents. One thing I adore about London is the multi-cultural society. I love hearing accents from around the world combined into one city and most importantly, I love to learn about culture.

Whilst away we spent a lot of time at Hyde Park and Kensington Park. It was lovely to walk around the scenery alone, holding hands like a hollywood romance - I loved every second of it.

Before heading back to the hotel, we went on the London Eye. The view was beautiful and it was great to spend some more quality time with James.

We stayed at the Shaftesbury London Hyde Park hotel which was beautiful. The service was impeccable and the room was cosy. Whilst getting ready for a night out, my partner was getting slightly agitated. I kept asking him what was wrong. He started telling me how much he loved me and I told him I loved him more, he then got down on one knee and I giggled. I really didn't think he was being serious, until he said: " I heard that diamonds are a girls best friend, will you marry me?" The above picture was taken several minutes after the proposal.

We then went to the Roof Gardens restaurant, Babylon in Kensington High Street. We celebrated with a special meal and cocktails!

Here's a picture of me and my fiance on the way back from the meal.

This is my fiance, James McDonnell. I met him when I was 14 and i've always had a soft spot for him. Our love for 50s/60s music brought us even closer together and 7months ago we began to date. We've been through so much together in a short-time and even though some of the experiences we have haven't necessarily been the best (Being in hospital for one), I wouldn't change them, it brought us even closer together. I love him so much and I can't believe he proposed to me for my 21st birthday, it's the best present he could have ever given me.

Here's the ring:

We are having a long engagement, but I'm already starting the planning. I really can't wait for our special day. Feel free to check my Wedding Inspiration board on Pinterest!
