Goodbye 2011...

This year has seen the rise of so many exciting new adventures in my life and so many obstacles I've had to overcome and face, but I've finally made it with a smile on my face and I'm ready to celebrate the New Year with my friends and family.

Wherever you are in the world, I hope you have a fabulous evening and most of all, a Happy New Year!

Lots of love,

A Week of Fashion

This week has been incredibly busy, but I wouldn't have changed it for the world. I have been to two cities and chilled out at two very fun and glamorous events, Manchester Loves Fashion and the Clothes Show Live. Manchester Loves Fashion was pretty fun and I attended the event with those two glamorous ladies pictured above, my best friends Oliva (on the left) and Emma (on the right). We started the night by dining on Pizza Hut and finished by leaving on the train with a goodie bag of Durex and Makeup samples.

The second event of the week was the Clothes Show Live, which was amazing.  It was like a fashionistas and beauty lovers paradise being surrounded by clothes and makeup.  I was kindly given a press pass for the day, so I had endless of photograph opportunities, so here's a few of the photographs I took on the day.

The Clothes Show live featured many catwalk shows and besides the main show, the clothes that stuck the most in my mind came from the Diet Coke/Company stage, where many of the people were styled by Fashion Blogger Bip Ling. These beauties that I'm about to show captured the street style of Paris, New York and London, which all looked elegant and exactly the way I would love to dress. This show was quickly followed by a parade of designs by many UK fashion colleges, all of which were incredible.

Reveal Magazine

This week I have been featured in the lovely 'Reveal' magazine due to my weight-loss. I had an amazing day with the other two beautiful and inspiring women featured in the article and it has made me really proud of my achievement.

This year has been incredibly tough and challenging, but it has been lovely to see that all my hard work and determination has paid off and I now have a body i'm vaguely comfortable with. Although I said in the magazine 'I still have fat days', it seems that i'm now coming to terms with my body image and I hope every woman can eventually look at themselves and feel beautiful, because my new found confidence has made me realise, although I don't have the 'model' body, I am beautiful in my own way, just like everyone else.

Although my diet is mentioned as the 'cider vinegar diet', my weight loss was mainly down to the exercise and healthy eating and I thoroughly believe that weight-loss isn't about just losing weight, it is about doing something healthy and active that increases your confidence whatever size you may be.  If I could ask anything of my followers, just take one second to look in the mirror and tell yourself that you are beautiful, because you may not see, but all of you are incredibly beautiful whoever you may be.

I would personally like to thank Reveal magazine for allowing me in their magazine, giving me extremely good memories and creating images for me that represent a brand new start - I am forever thankful.

London bound.

Yesterday I grew up...a few years too late, but I did it. I boarded the train at 7am promptly and headed to London on my own for the first time. I instantly felt the 'travellers bug'. There is no better feeling than having a train ticket and the whole world at your feet. I finally felt like the independent, soul searching woman that I should be.

You may be thinking, this is not a big deal? The truth is, I had an extremely bad fear of travelling when I was younger.  I don't know where the fear derived from, but it was the vein of my life. I would often have surreal panic attacks and feel insanely nauseous within two seconds of hitting a trains platform. An utterly strange occurrence was when I got too scared of going to my ex boyfriend's house alone. I can't explain the feeling, it just happened.

One day I woke up and realised I had to conquer this fear, so I booked a train to a nearby city called Leeds. I hesitantly clambered on to the train shaking like a leaf, I handed the conductor my ticket and when I reached my location, I felt the biggest sense of achievement in my life, heck - my GCSE results felt less significant than this.

Pass forward a few weeks and here I am, home from a very long, yet amazing day in London after spending the day with a national magazine known as 'Reveal'.  Dressed to kill with my little red outfit and stiletto heels, I  felt confident and that I could actually hack this whole scenario. I met lots of fabulous people who work for the magazine and two incredibly inspirational women that were also the focus of the photoshoot I attended. The article will focus on three people who have lead different diet plans to lose a substantial amount of weight and hey, I'm one of them. The day was absolutely perfect and I would happily do it all over again.

The lesson I learnt :

Live for the moment and over your fears, because you cannot predict the future and you do not know what exciting opportunities the  future may bring.

My new favourite...blazer!

I have mentioned it in a previous post, but I can't get enough of this mustard yellow blazer that I recently bought from River Island (£39.99). The colour is bang on trend and with Britain being in the full swing of summer, this little item is incredibly versatile.

Please excuse the imagery as I know I'm not very model-esque (although like most girls, I wish I was a model). This blazer was teamed up with a cute chiffon top for a daytime look. It could be great for work or playtime and I accessorized it with a necklace I recently won in a magazine, made by the lovely Zara Taylor.

For the evening, I swapped my dark blue jeans for a black velvet dress...

I can't explain how much I love this, although I doubt it will ever replace my favourite leather jacket, but it comes close.

Hope you're all having a fab weekend!
