Seasons Online Wishlists

My obsession with jewelry will soon be turning into a slight shopping addiction. Nearly every evening I'm spending more and more time browsing the internet and looking for quirky pieces of costume jewelry. It all started when my auntie died and my sudden urge to collate a box full of jewels that represent my personality and something that I could easily be remembered by if something ever happened. Its like my friend - I could never imagine her without a patterned scarf and everytime I see one in the store I begin to think 'should I buy her that and keep it for her Christmas present'. Her skull patterned scarves are her trade mark. Unfortunately I'm a student and I don't have the biggest budget to splurge on accessories, but there are so many quirky independent designers or stores that sell some fabulous pieces for a very small little tag. I recently came across the site Seasons Online and fell in love with their variety of unique bracelets, necklaces and even scarves. Their prices are incredibly cheap giving you the opportunity to hoard away plenty of jewellery in just one shop. Why not invest in a mustache necklace in honour of Movember? Or unleash your inner hippy with the cute peace logo bracelet? Although I'm not religious I love the dangling cross necklace and the rosary bead bracelet.

There's not only a great selection of jewellery, there's also plenty of fashionable scarves to keep you warm this winter. As someone who loves the term 'rock chick' I enjoy wearing skull scarves and trying to look a little bit alternative. The beautiful left hand side skull scarf looks feminine with the pastel pink back colour, but adds an artistic vibrant touch with the coloured touch. If you're a fan of Marilyn Monroe like myself, you may like this Marilyn Monroe scarf you can buy. This is definitely a purchase I'll be looking to make on payday. Marilyn Monroe is a big role model for me and her style is unforgettable.

Finally, I can't get over the price of these wonderful earrings. They start at as little as £2.50 and there are many creative designs for you to purchase. I'm a big fan of animal designs when it comes to jewellery and the London earrings look perfect for my trip down south in the next few weeks. The pearl drop earrings and the dreamcatcher set look elegant and would perfectly suit a night on the town outfit.

Valentines Lips with Barry M

"Pour yourself a drink, put some lipstick on and pull yourself together" - Marilyn Monroe.

For decades a bright red lipstick has been seen as the epitome of confidence for women. It symbolises sexuality, feminism and the powerful stance that women can often have over men. Red lipstick in particular is associated with lust and glamour, which was mainly bought to the forefront of media attention by the likes of screen goddesses Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor during the 1950s. When reaching for our favourite shade of red lip paint, we often think of the 1950s as it oozes a classy, sophisticated appeal. In the 1960s, many women were accused of having mental disorders if they did not wear lipstick. Lipstick was classed as a necessary accessory for women.

With Valentines Day just around the corner, it's time to honor our true inner goddess and get the guys lusting over our kissable lips.  There's no better colour than red for this occasion and I'm going to suggest that Barry M shade 121 should take place in your makeup purse.

Barry M Shade 121 is called 'Pillar Box Red' and in my opinion, resembles the colour of old phone boxes. Bright, vibrant and very classic, this Barry M lipstick has a fantastic creamy texture and glides on effortlessly with barely any smudges. The one downside to this product is the fact that it's a little dry, but if you apply lip balm before hand and keep your lips hydrated, you shouldn't have any problems.

The lipstick is very vibrant and really brings your lips to the centre of attention. If you're too scared of colour this lipstick probably isn't for you, but I still suggest you give it a go. The colour red is great for anyone with a daring personality and this lipstick looks wonderful on brunettes.  The lipstick can be bought for £4.49 which is easily affordable and a great little treat for valentines day without going over the top.

I have always been a fan of bright red lipsticks, I own approximately 30 different shades at home and I'm admittedly turning into somewhat of a 'red lipstick hoarder'. Nevertheless, nothing will stop me. I'm passionate, a little crazy at times and I love a great challenge. The colour red sums me up perfectly.

I shall leave you with a song called 'Red Lipstick' by Kesha!

Memoirs of a Blonde

To some people, a hair colour is insignificant. It doesn't matter whether you're brunette, blonde or a red head, it's just a colour. However, there's a handful of people that believe a hair colour can define your personality. Blondes can be represented as 'dumb', red heads apparently have 'fiery tempers' and brunettes are classy, demure, yet don't know how to have fun.  My hair colour is simply an expression of how i'm feeling at the time. For years I had black hair. This could have been heavily influenced by the amount rock music and concerts I was going to or on a psychological level, it could have been an expression of my life being at it's darkest days. When I turned blonde, I wanted to see the light at the end of the tunnel, the injection of fun into my life and to represent how happy I became during that time period. Being blonde was fun and exciting, but unfortunately it wasn't me.

At first it was fun. Suddenly, I got more attention for the men. Even though I'm happily engaged, it was nice to be complimented and gave my man an ego boost. People presumed I was a party animal and I was invited out a lot more. However, the stigma of being a blonde used to get to me. Like a skinny person being called anorexic just because she's naturally slim, I was being called 'dumb' just for being blonde. I then started missing my brunette sex appeal and now I've decided to go back.

I decided to write this post 'Memoirs of a blonde' because it represents how a hair colour change affect your personality. Blonde brought out a new side of me. An outgoing, unreserved persona that I will take with me on my journey of being brunette. I also got to weigh up the old saying: 'blondes have more fun'. Blondes do get recognised easily. When I'm walking down the streets, people often notice my bright hair.  However, I love the classy looking brunette. Audrey Hepburn and Dita Von Teese are my style icons and as much as I loved going through my Marilyn Monroe moments,  I longed for voluminous dark tresses.

Tomorrow morning will bring out another side of me. The brunette I've wanted to be for quite awhile.  I've loved being blonde, but my hair is so damaged that it lacks shine and is becoming rather dull. So it's bye bye to the blonde and hello to brunette.

Does your hair colour define aspects of your personality?
