Back from Ibiza.

Hola! Yesterday I arrived back from my amazing week away in Ibiza and boy, I've had fun. Me and my wonderful fiance have had an amazing experience from snorkelling on the beach to sailing the Mediterranean sea on a 100ft Katamaran on one of Ibizas famous boat parties. Alcohol was drank in copious amounts, frolicking on the beach was a daily occurrence and spending lots of time with my amazing man made the whole week a holiday I'll never forget.

As you can see, I've come back with pretty distinguishable tan-lines and despite being there only five days, I really feel that I've been given a nice healthy glow. The weather was red hot all week - sometimes a little bit unbearable, but for the majority of the time it was like being in a tropical haven.

Throughout all the week, I spend a lot of the evenings sampling many cocktails at the local bars. Right across from the hotel was an Irish bar, which made my irish finance light up like it was Christmas. The cocktails all had tongue in cheek irish names and my favourite had to be the cranberry mix and liqueurs mix named 'Temple bar.' Despite it being the evening time, I very rarely took off my lovely Gucci sunglasses. I've needed an excuse to wear them and this was definitely the time. I'm so glad I've come back to blazing hot English weather so I can continue rocking my favourite accessory.

So now I'm back and reality of being stuck in England has hit. It's time for me to get back to doing something that makes me equally as happy as travelling and that's blogging. Expect many reviews coming this way in the next few days, we have a lot of catching up to do.

What have you been up to lately?

Wedding Planning

As many of you know, I've been engaged since April 2012 and I have some exciting news to tell you all. As of yesterday evening, me and my partner James have placed the deposit down on our wedding reception. I'm beyond excited and I seem to have gone into wedding overdrive. I'm not getting married until 2014, but it's great that we're so prepared and we can have a gradual planning session rather than doing the whole 'Don't Tell The Bride' thing of booking a wedding within 3 weeks. Of course, being a really girly girl, I'm so excited about trying on wedding dresses in the near future, so I decided to celebrate by showing you some of my favourites online.

My wedding theme is 1950s/60s. Me and my partner can't choose with decade we really prefer, so we're going for the turn of the decade. Think Dreamboats and Petticoats and early Beatles. I'm looking for a dress with plenty of elegant lace and quite big. This top dress is from the Maggie Sottero range. I love the beautiful lace top half and how the lace trails along the bottom. I have slightly bigger hips so I like the fact that this dress goes in at the wait then out again.

This second dress still has the lace elements that I really like, but it's much more slimline. I'm not overly keen on the gloves, but the dress looks beautiful. It's simple, yet incredibly elegant.

The final dress is known as the 'Snow White' dress. I love the floral decoration on the top and the fact that it looks so retro. Right now if I had to choose one dress, this would definitely be it.

Whilst we were discussing wedding plans at the hotel last night, we were told that the hotel is pet friendly and that guests are allowed to bring dogs if they are struggling for accommodation. Words cannot describe how happy I am to hear that my little yorkshire terrier, Ozzy, can be a guest at my wedding. Of course he isn't allowed in the reception room, but he can be in my wedding pictures and have a lie down upstairs whilst we all party. I definitely need to look at dog tuxedos...

Which dress would you choose?

The Engagement Party

As many of you know, on Friday 13 April 2012 (unlucky for some) my gorgeous partner, James proposed to me whilst on a romantic weekend break in London celebrating my 21st birthday. We had been together only seven months, but those seven months could not have been any more dramatic. After two hospital admissions, one wedding, one funeral, a 50th birthday, a 21st birthday, Christmas, New Year and Valentines day, along with knowing him for six years as a very close friend, it was clear our relationship was destined to be. It was our friends and family that suggested we had an engagement party to break the news and get everyone together for a huge celebration. Me and James sat down pondering the idea and eventually agreed. We wrote down a list of 70 of our closest friends and family, then proceeded to book a local venue called 'the Rock Cafe' for June. Longing for a future dreamboats and petticoats style wedding, I couldn't wait to get a big fancy swing dress for the party, talk about weddings and dance the night away.

Here I am, gazing into the eyes of the man I love. The night went all to plan and I couldn't have wished for a better evening. My friends arrived, dressed to impress, I saw many my family for the first time in several years and we had congratulations all round.

Having danced all night in six inch stilettos, I can't explain how much my feet throbbed the morning afterwards, but it was definitely worth it.

Most of the men suited up in their finest, drank whiskey and stayed together throughout the night like Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack.

By the end of the night all my friends danced and the DJ played an eclectic mix of The Beatles and B*Witched - not very 1950s I know, but it made the night entertaining.

As expected, it wasn't too long until my Dad took to the microphone and said a little speech. He kindly introduced James to the family and let everyone know how happy he was for us. It was such a lovely gesture.

Its times like this you begin to realise the import people in your life and fast time can go. Above is a photograph of my cousins of whom I haven't seen in around four years. They now look so grown up and dressed impeccably for the party. My wish to them is that one day in the future, they too find a partner as amazing as mine and realise the meaning how amazing true love can be.

Have you done anything exciting lately?
