Be My Valentine F&F

As previously mentioned on the blog, I have a little bit of a soft spot for Valentines Day. I would definitely call myself an old school romantic who loves the idea of holding hands skipping down the streets, serenading each other by guitar and been laid down on a bed of roses. I think I have probably grown up watching far too many romantic films, but I'm lucky my current relationship is quite like that. I have managed to do the inevitable and meet a man who loves to wine and dine me, treat me like a princess and also has a soft spot for cheesy 'lovey dovey' 50s songs like myself.

Having read about my love for Valentines day, F&F recently approached me and asked me to be their Valentine and decided to sent me a little surprise present to their gorgeous Valentines underwear.

Recently I have been doing a lot of clothes shopping at supermarkets. Brands like F&F, George and M&S seem to have really upped their game lately and I'm impressed with the quality of their clothing. This lingerie set by F&F at Tescos is a delightful colour of pink and perfect for Valentines day. The F&F Duchess Scalloped Edge Plunge bra is not only pretty, but fits really well. The laced edge adds a vintage twist to the lingerie set and the bright pink adds a bit of colour to the bedroom. I have quite an extensive underwear collection with bras from Agent Provocateur to La Senza and none of my bras have fit as well as this little beauty. I really did not expect such high quality from a supermarket brand and it has made me reconsider my underwear purchases.

Not only do I love the bra, I absolutely adore these french knickers that came with the set. They feel comfy, fit perfectly and really give definition to those buttock cheeks. When it comes to knickers, I always struggle finding the perfect pair that fits. Having the 'mothers apron', 'belly hang' or whatever you would like to call it makes finding underwear a nightmare. I'm a size 8, but sometimes my belly makes size 8 underwear feel like they are slipping down and size 10 always feels too big. These knickers are perfectly true to size and probably the best pair I own.

Other items included in my little F&F giftset were some Soap and Glory goodies, chocolate from Hotel Chocolat and the 'Summer 2013' Essie collection - a little bit dated, but nevertheless beautiful.

Soap and Glory are a brand that I have heard so much about, but never really understood the hype. Their products smell beautiful and work rather well, but I have never been their biggest fan. The 'Great Kisser' lip tint is a wonderful apricot colour perfect for the spring time and for donning an au natural look this Valentines Day. However, I find that the texture of this lip product is a little bit too sticky for my liking and I have been rather disappointed. The Glow Lotion is a product I haven't properly tried yet, but so far I'm loving the packaging and thinking this could be rather good.

I only discovered Hotel Chocolat a few months ago when 02 Priority moments had their chocolate giveaway and ever since I have been hooked. I have lead a sheltered life where I thought chocolate could not get better than Lindor or Thorntons, but I have been wrong. Hotel Chocolat is deliciously smooth, melt in your mouth chocolate and the perfect Valentines day gift.

Valentines Gift Guide: Part 1

You can ask all my friends and they will agree, I've always been the mushy romantic one. In year 3 at school, I started scrawling love letters with crayons to the boy sat next to me, during my earlier teenage years I'd be the one secretly listening to love songs and on my cassette player and I was always told I would be the one to settle down first at high school, which in fact turned out right. Unlike quite a few of the people I know that cringe at the thought of getting married, it's something I have longed for. I may only be 22 year old, but luckily for me I have found my soul mate.

When it comes to Valentines day, I love giving and receiving thoughtful gifts. During the first year of mine and my partners relationship, he bought me a stuffed toy designed by himself and created by his friend. I'm lucky that I have a partner that can be quite mushy at times - although like most men, he's happy acting the tough guy in front of his friends.

This mug was recommended to me by a PR friend on Twitter and as soon as I saw it, I knew that it embodied all the cheesy, romantic connotations that I love on Valentines Day and it was something that I really wanted to get for my partner. After all, moving house for the first time we do need some mugs.

This mug is from http://www.yourdesign.co.uk/* and can be personalised with your partners name and a photo. I choose one of my favourite pics of me and my man from our first holiday abroad in Ibiza. Admittedly this mug is a little bit pink and I will probably be the one using it - I don't think my partner wants to lose man points, but over all I love the idea of this mug and the personal element to it. It is something that can be put to one side and treasured forever rather than a box of chocolates that can be consumed in one whole night and the cup is a fabulous talking piece for the kitchen.

Midi Love

Being short, I never thought I would pull off such a long dress. My height has always been one of my worrying spots, being only 5 ft 3, I have always dreamt of long super model legs that would make my whole body appear so much slimmer.

After purchasing my Topshop midi dress in September, I realised that long fitted dresses was not only for those tall and slim. My dress made me feel elegant, slimmer and gave the appearance of longer taller legs. The midi dress hid a multiple of sins and every since, I've been hooked on the style.

A few weeks ago, I was sent a press release for a company called Mee Mee clothing. In the description, it detailed their new line of midi dresses from sparkles to Aztec prints. Mesmerized by my new love of midi's, I knew that I had to try a new one.

For those who have never heard of Mee Mee clothing - think of trendy and fun clothing all at an affordable price. It's very reminiscent of Misguided and Fashion Union, both trendy urban street wear that is great for students. However, Mee Mee clothing has free delivery and a superb vintage collection for those who like to find items with character.

The Mee Mee dress I have fallen in love with is the Graphic Printed Midi dress at £18. The fabric is soft, stretchy and figure hugging. The dress feels like wearing a second skin, it's so comfortable. The dress can be styled up or down and simply looks great even if you're lounging around on the sofa after a long day at work.

I've been teaming my midi with my bright red blazer to make the colours stand out for an eye catching look.

There's so many amazing dresses at Mee Mee clothing and I can definitely see myself popping back for a sneaky purchase or two in the next few weeks.

What do you think of the dress?

Kissable Valentines Lips

Valentines day is just around the corner and at the moment, there's nothing I'm enjoying more than experimenting with my lipsticks and trying to find a perfect shade for the special night. Me and my partner will be going to our favourite restaurant as per usual and I want to look my best. There's nothing that screams lust more than red lipstick and I'm no stranger to the pretty colour. Today I thought I'd show you two other red beauties that are currently on the market and see which one tickles your fancy.
Cajun Pepper currently on offer at £2 from Front Cover Cosmetics

The
Cajun Pepper mini lipstick  is one of the newest releases from the Front Cover range and it's great for those wanting a deeper colour. Unlike Pillar Box Red or the Bloody Mary lipgloss I'm about to show you, this colour is a little bit more subtle and oozes ounces of sex appeal.  The colour lasts a relatively long time, not quite 24 hours, but long enough to have kissable lips all night through.

The lipstick is a miniature size which is perfect for your handbag or discreetly slipping into your pocket for a night out and with a price as small as £4 (currently on sale at £2), it's great to be able to trial lots of different colours.

A.K.A Lipgloss £7 from A.KA cosmetics

http://www.akacosmetics.com/
If you love the colour of Cajun Pepper, but you would prefer a bit more vibrancy or a 'gloss lipped' look, this lipgloss from A.K.A cosmetics is fabulous. I'm not usually a lipgloss girl. I either forget to apply it or stick to my usual lipsticks. However, I really like how this tinted lipgloss makes my pout stand out. 'Bloody Mary' lipgloss is great for those looking for a subtle red gloss or for those wanting to enhance their already red lips. I prefer using this on top of a different colour, but either way it works really well. I love that the product isn't really sticky like a lot lipgloss brands and it makes my lips look effortlessly fabulous.
Bloody Mary Lipgloss Demo

Whatever you're doing this valentines day - whether you're going to the cinema, for a meal, an extravagant night out or just simply staying in with a box of chocolates to yourself, remember there's nothing that feels better than a sexy red lip.

Have you tried any of these colours?

Also, remember to enter my Giveaway!
