Best of 2014 Advent Calendars

With only 63 days until Christmas (just over 8 weeks), I thought it was finally time to properly start mentioning the 'C word' here on Forever Miss Vanity. Christmas always has a nasty habit on creeping up on us a little bit too fast and this year is no exception. I can still remember last Christmas like it was yesterday and having crammed in a graduation, a wedding, moving house and a new job this within the last 12 months, it's no wonder that this year has flown by. To help you feel a little bit more organised (as well as helping myself get organised), I decided to give you a round up of the best advent calendars currently on the market. I have everything here from chocolate to alcohol and best of all, lots of beauty treats.

Liberty London Advent Calendar £149
If you're looking to inject a little bit of luxury into your build up for Christmas and you have money to spend, why not lavish yourself with this beautiful Peacock printed beauty advent calendar from Liberty London. Built with little drawers rather than the normal advent calendar flaps, this beauty calendar houses some of the luxurious beauty treats that can be found in one of London's most prestigious stores. With everything from NARS to Dermalogica, Laura Mercier and ESPA, this calendar is the Christmas calendar that keeps on giving and worth it if you're looking to invest in some higher end beauty this festive season.
Available in store or online in November.

L'Occitane Advent Calendar £45
In Provence, France it is tradition to have 13 deserts on the Christmas table and L'Occitane staying true to it's French foundations has decided to trim down their advent calendar to 13 doors rather than conventional 24. However, do not be dismayed. The L'Occitane calendar doors each reveal sensual body and skincare products with lots of fragrant, stimulating and enjoyable beauty surprises. At £45, this calendar is a worthy investment for any true skincare fan.
Available on the website from November.

Selfridges Advent Calendar £85
One of the highly anticipated advent calendars is back on the market and this time Selfridges have opted for an enchanted theme. The Enchanted Spells advent calendar has an inventory of magic potions that are perfect for any beauty fanatic. The calendar houses some of the world's finest beauty brands including YSL, Victor & Rolf and Lancome.
The advent calendar is now available online or in store at Selfridges.

Although the popularity of beauty calendars has increased over the last year, we cannot do an advent calendar round up without mentioning our old favourites, the chocolate advent calendar. The chocolate advent calendar is still as popular as ever and these days even the chocolate companies are upping their game.

Lindt Advent Calendar £5.49
Lindt chocolate has always been a firm favourite in my family and there isn't a Christmas that goes by where I don't scoff almost an entire box of Lindor chocolate truffles on Christmas day. For those who haven't had the pleasure of dining on Lindt chocolate before, Lindt chocolate is a melt in the mouth chocolate heaven. With many different flavours, textures and creamy chocolate goodness and not to mention the small price tag of £5.49, it's hard to resist buying this advent calendar this Christmas.

Hotel Chocolat Advent Calendar £12.50
Another contender for the best chocolate advent calendar this year (in my opinion) is Hotel Chocolat. I cannot resist popping into my local Hotel Chocolat branch at Christmas and treating myself to their beautifully packaged, exquisitely tasting chocolate. The Hotel Chocolat advent calendar this year features a fabulous 24 Christmas sculptures from reindeer to snowmen and penguins to Christmas trees.

Not on the High-street Beer Advent Calendar £112
Although I'm not a massive fan of beer, I couldn't help but mention this quirky advent calendar I stumbled across the other day whilst browsing the Not on the High-street website. For those looking to have a Christmas tipple or two, this is the perfect way to ease yourself into the Christmas spirit. This advent calendar celebrates the Best of British by housing 24 different 330ml traditionally British beers and a 500ml bottle of 'Ding Dong' Champagne style ale for Christmas Day.

Have you bought your advent calendar yet?
