The Big Weight Debate

It’s coming to the end of London Fashion Week, so we can finally wave goodbye to those feelings of envy as we watched so many flawless and skinny models walk down the catwalk. It’s hard on weeks like this to remember that we all come in different shapes and sizes and that “size 0” isn't always the best size. I love London Fashion Week and I adore fashion, but sometimes I just want to eat a cupcake and enjoy it.

Today I found out that I have finally lost 5 stone and I'm immensely proud of myself. My weight has always been a struggle, but I finally controlled it. Losing this weight has been the best thing in my life, but I have learnt that whatever size you are, trying to find the right clothing can be horrendous.

We've always been obsessed with our perfect size. Every lady will have a perfect size they wish to be. Be it voluptuous or a slender figure. With clothing sizes constantly changing, is it really a good idea to fixate ourselves on being a perfect size or should we just forget it?

I've always been the perfect little misfit
I'm 5ft 2 - finding trousers height wise is impossible
I don't have the smallest breasticles in world - hence bra fitting can be annoying
And although I've lost weight, I still have a curvy figure.

I've noticed recently that you can never be one size. In New Look i'm a completely different size to River Island and don't even get me started on Primark. Even poor Erin O'Connor, an international supermodel has been criticised for not being able to fit into a standard size of clothing every single time.

What I'm trying to say is it doesn't matter what jean size you are. As long as your healthy, it doesn't matter. Girls, we need to embrace our curves and it doesn't matter whatever shape you are. Losing weight is the best thing I ever did but fashion wise? It's still as complicated as ever to find clothes that fit.

Don't worry about being a size bigger in one shop - if it looks sexy and you don't look like you've tried too hard to fit it in - keep it. Its better to have clothes that fit rather than having them in your cupboard for only you to see the size tag.

You are all beautiful -  have a cupcake and don't worry.

  2. Nice blog! Absolutely true. Congrats on your weight loss. I joined WW 6 weeks ago and am down 17 lbs its a great feeling but every time I go to a meeting they ask me what my goal weight is I kept saying I didn't have one because I don't care too much about weight I want to feel great and look great I don't care what a scale says. I did however get tired of them asking me so I say 150-160 but we will see. Congrats again and you look great!

  8. Congratulations on the weight lost! Great perseverance!
I'm short and jeans are a nightmare so I totally understand what you're saying. Getting them altered is really not an option as
    a) that costs more money
    b) the original design might be altered completely

  11. Thank you! Your story has inspired me, especially because our size is almost the same! My diet consists of boiled food, some supplements http://weightlosstop.com/top_5_best_meal_replacement_shakes_reviews.php and vegetables. It has a great effect for me.
