Airbrushing make up technique has become a favorite with women over the last decade because of its perfect finished look. Airbrush make up boasts of superior coverage and covers every blemish and freckle on your body in a thin layer of makeup that looks like an extension of your skin. While celebrities and professional make up artists swear by it, even normal women want to try this look and achieve the flawless end results.

It is important that you know how all the airbrush make up tools work if you want to get great results. It would need a bit of practice to perfect the technique of using these tools but it is totally worth the effort. Following are some points on important airbrush make up tools and how to use them –

  1. Airbrush Make Up Gun And Compressor – This is the most important tool and you would find it at any store and in every airbrush make up kit. It can be expensive if you are looking for a top quality one but for a constrained budget, you can get one for as little as $25. Just make sure that the airbrush gun you buy allows you to change the tip. The tip determines the rate at which you spray the makeup on to your skin. You also need an air compressor that comes with all the makeup kits as well. It costs around $50 and alternatively, you can use those large shop compressors if the noise doesn’t bother you much. It is a necessary tool because it allows your makeup to flow more smoothly by regulating the air.

  1. Using The Airbrush Gun and Compressor – Always test check your compressor before you use it with your makeup. Same goes for your makeup gun. Drop a few drops of makeup inside and test it on the back of your hand to see that the spray rate and coverage are all as you want them to be. Ensure that the makeup flows out effortlessly.
The airbrush makeup gun must be held away from the face at a distance of about 6 to 10 inches for best results. Also ensure that you don’t stay at a spot for too long and use light circular motions to apply the makeup more evenly.

  1. Aftercare And Cleaning of Airbrush Gun and Compressor – You must clean your gun properly so that dried and hardened make up doesn’t clog the opening. Pour some warm water with liquid soap through it so that the clogs are loosened. Rubbing alcohol works fine as well. Keep your makeup gun immersed in a soapy solution every few uses for better cleaning.
Cleaning is important because you don’t want to harm your face and body from harmful make up residues.

Always cover your head with a scarf to protect your hair from makeup splashes. It is important that you invest in good makeup products and keep practicing to get better.
