Blusher Bricks

Blusher Bricks are the latest products launched from Miners cosmetics and you're definitely in for a treat. Pastel pinks and soft tan colours are perfect for our current weather, fulfilling all your contouring   and summer blushing needs. These blusher sets are highly pigmented and blend so well on my light skin tone.

This first set is known as 'the Browns' colour palette. It has an eclectic mix of soft terracotta, a creamy pastel pink and a fabulous nude biege.A gentle sweep of all these colours across your checks creates the perfect mix, with each colour highlighting key areas of your facial features. The browns set has to be my favourite as it adds a subtle glow to my face and I haven't stopped using it.

The 'Pinks' palette is perfect for those seeking doll like features, wearing charming summer dresses and favour the natural look rather than tan. Unfortunately this blusher brick recently exploded in my make-up cabinet, but nevertheless, at £4.49, I still count this as one of my favourite bargain price blushers.

Miners 'Blusher Bricks' are available to purchase from www.minerscosmetics.co.uk at £4.49.

Here is my overall make-up before I ventured out for a night in town, what do you think? Have you tried the Blusher Bricks?

Feeling Natural with Dove

"The best age banishing technique; looking after your skin from a young age" - my mother.

My mother is 54 years old this winter, but her skin shows little signs of wrinkles and has hardly any blemishes. When caking on cosmetics from a very young age, my dad would often say: " don't put too much on, you'll regret it in 40 years time", maybe he is right. The core concept of all this mumble jumble is that if you look after your skin against the affects of sun damage (particularly in this weather) and moisturise regularly, your body will reap the benefits. Dove is one of the nations leading brands in beauty products - often promoting a realistic approach to looking after yourself and proving that real beauty is 'skin deep'. Having been an avid follower of Dove products since the day I discovered the word moisturiser, I really couldn't wait to try their latest products.

Dove Summer Glow + Soft Shimmer ( £5.10 from Boots)

Dove Summer Glow is a gradually building tan that aims to make you looking naturally sun kissed. Since the weather has been lovely and warm, I have recently applied this body lotion so that I wasn't too afraid to step out of my doorstep with bare legs. I'm naturally pale and unfortunately, I burn rather than tan. The Dove Summer Glow is a great purchase for those who have never tried fake tan before or find the fake tan mousse difficult and messy. Simply apply the lotion as you would any other moisturiser daily and you will feel healthy and glowing in no time. I really like this product and like most Dove products, I would happily use it again and again. The shimmer element of the product reminds me of the Twilight Saga. Every time I step out in the sun I sparkle like a glittery vampire.

Dove Hydro Nourishment Body Lotion

On the bottle, the  Dove Hydro Nourishment Body Lotion promises to be 'fast absorbing', 'wonderfully light' and says it will leave your skin 'ultra soft and beautiful' and I agree. This is a product that does exactly what it says on the bottle. When I first tried this lotion, I accidentally squirted it all over my arm, but the lotion absorbed really quickly and left my skin feeling soft. The lotion smells fresh and avoids the chemical scent that a lot of body lotions naturally conjure up. Using the Dove Deep Care complex, the lotion uses natural skin nutrients and rich essential oil to improve the surface layers of your skin. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone that longs for soft, shimmering skin, especially on hot days like this.

Dove Natural Touch - Dead Sea Minerals is the latest Dove deodorant which offers 48 hour protection and a moisturising finish for your under-arms. I love this product. It smells fresh, it lasts for hours and my under arms feel smooth. When I first tried this product, I had my doubts due to the weather being incredibly warm. Most deodorants I have tried failed to last a few hours in average British weather (usually rainy/cloud covered), but the Dove Natural touch exceeded my exceptions. Finally I have found the mecca of all deodorants and I doubt I will be turning back.

An exhibition known as the 'Dove By You' has launched exclusively for Facebook fans to showcase what the beauty brand means to them, incorporating the iconic bird image within creative designs that have emotional resonance for them. This exhibition will take place once a month and everyone involved will be provided with a design toolkit to help create a unique and wonderful design using the iconic Dove logo. Sunday Thoughts

So here I am, sat in bed on a Sunday evening thinking what have I done in my week? Unfortunately, not very much. Since having my operation a few months ago, I have developed arthritis in my knee and have suffered a flare up that has left me bed bound. This week has mainly consisted of snuggling up to my pooch, Ozzy (seen in the image above), attempting to online shop and wedding planning.

One little surprise this week was my little moment of fame in Pick Me Up magazine. I tried my hand at being an agony aunt for the second time and I've received quite a few comments from people saying that they agreed with my advice - you never know, this could be my one step towards having an advice column.

Have you done anything interesting this week?

Love Rocks Giftset

I've always been a fan of bath bombs, but unfortunately I don't have a Lush in my home town and it can often be quite expensive, worth it, but pricey. When I came across this beautiful retro inspired bath set on the website 'find me a gift', I couldn't wait to try it.  The box encompasses everything I look for: girly, fun, exciting packaging, full of pink assortments and affordable on a student budget.

The box is neatly wrapped with a tag explaining about each product. As you can see, there's a vast variety of products for those who love to soak in strawberries or indulge in a chocolate scented massage bar.

The products were neatly bundled in a hay like packaging, giving a natural feel to the soaps and bath blasters. For one moment, it took me back to my childhood unravelling nests for chocolate easter eggs, but instead I was looking for bathing products.

I haven't had chance to try all the products yet, but here's what is on offer in the Love Rocks Giftset. The above photograph is of the love rocks Chocolate Therapy Massage bar and the Crazy Cupid Soap - both smell like a piece of heaven. If you're a fan of strawberries, creams and chocolate, you will love these.

Here's the crazy after dark blaster, the Strawberries and Dreams bath brulee and the sugar bath blaster.

I couldn't help but take another photograph of this product. It looks good enough to eat and exhibits so much attention to detail.

This is the smallest product in the set, the Hearts Desire Bath Creamer. I love the heart detail and it's the perfect size to save for your travel bag. Imagine a hotel bathtub with the scent of strawberry and cream, whilst getting ready for a night out - it would definitely be a relaxing treat.

These last two products are the 'Sink in the Pink' bath blaster and the 'Big Luvva' bath blaster, both of which are the biggest products in the box. To give you an example of the products, I decided to use a tiny piece of the 'Big Luvva' in my bathroom sink.

The water turned Barbie pink and felt incredibly creamy against my skin. After a few minutes of resting my hands, I feel a noticeable softness.

The Love Rocks Giftset is available at Find Me A Gift for only £14.99. In total you receive 8 products, so you're paying less than £2 per product - total bargain. This would make an ideal gift for any woman and I would definitely buy this again.

What do you think of the giftset? Have you tried it before?

Trinitia Fake Tan

The weather in England resembles the season of winter rather than summer and everybody's dreaming of their future sunny getaway.  I've always been naturally pale, resembling a milk bottle rather than the beautiful sun kissed tan I desire, but due to my fear of turning orange, I have generally backed away from using fake tan. Since being ill earlier this year, I've longed to look and feel healthy and therefore I have surrendered to a product known as 'Trinitia Fake Tan' and I'm not turning back.

Trinitia fake tan was founded in 2007 and has become one of the leading suppliers in the tanning industry. They have recently sponsored Essex Fashion Week with their amazing mousses and moisturisers. The products are made from natural ingredients, containing no Alcohol, no Parabens and the products are not tested on animals, making the tans completely guilt free. The reason I love these products are because they lack the biscuit scent most fake tans have, they don't test on animals which is great for a vegetarian like me and it glides on leaving a natural sun kissed finish.

The tan comes in two forms: One being a moisturiser and the second being an instant mousse fake tan.  Having used St Moritz in the past, I decided to go for the mousse so i could compare and I've fallen in love with this product. To use the mousse, you simply shake the bottle and with a tanning mitt, you can apply the tan easily over your body. The formula dries instantly, meaning you can be ready for those nights out a lot faster than anticipated.

This is what I looked like before and after the fake tan and you can see a huge difference. The images have not been photoshopped as I really don't believe in this and I always maintain that my blog will promote healthy body image. I'm a size 8 and do have a few stretch marks from losing weight, but we all secretly have them. My skin looked incredibly pale before and the fake tan has added a youthful glow and has made me feel a little bit healthier in my own skin. Having a tan isn't all about looking like the stars of the latest reality television, it can really boost your confidence and in fact, it can also make you appear slimmer. There's 3 shades to choose from, so there's a shade for everyone.

I cannot recommend the Trinitia fake tan enough. At £15 a bottle you are paying for excellence and you will have a cheeky smile knowing that you haven't had to use a sun bed to look this natural.
