Harrods Glossybox

I have a thing for beauty boxes. It's that monthly treat that awaits you as you arrive home from a very long day and spices up your beauty collection. The box that inspires you to try the latest brands you may not have heard of and all in all, it's the mystery of the unknown that conjures the excitement.

I've been a subscriber to two beauty boxes in the past, the Boudoir Prive box, now known as the JolieBox and the Glossybox. I love both companies, each have received their fair share of arguments and debates, but I really can't think of a better way to trial new beauty products for cheaper. Unlike going to your local beauty counter or pharmacy, you have the ability to take the samples home and have a play in your own surroundings. With money getting tighter by the day, it's important that we now adapt to the whole 'try before you buy' routine, the only sacrifice that is made with the beauty boxes, is that the products are not of your choice. Many people argue that the boxes aren't value for money, however, if you look at a Rimmel Mascara for example, it is approximately £8 to buy from a drugstore. The Glossybox offers 5 products for £12.95 (including p&p) which are often luxury brands, therefore I think it's a pretty good deal.

I love this months Glossybox. The Glossybox is seen as an advocate of all things glamorous, mixed with high end products, so it comes as no shock that they have collaborated with retail giant Harrods. Mixing beauty products and my favourite store is like a dream come true and I'm pleasantly happy with the contents. The first thing i noticed when opening the box was the Harrods ribbon. The trademark logo was embellished onto the signature emerald green and wrapped around the tissue paper. I couldn't hold my excitement and eagerly wanted to see what was inside the box.

In this months Glossybox I received:

Clarins Extra Firming Body Cream
Molton Brown - Heavenly Ginger- Lily Moisture Bath and Shower
Narciso Rodriguez For Her - Eau De Parfum sample
YSL - Forever Youth Liberator
Burberry Beauty - Miniature Lip Cover Rosewood No4

Clarins Extra-firming Body Cream - Full size £28

From my favourite foundation to my lovely cleanser, I seem to be getting a little Clarins collection and I love it. Many people have argued about the demographic for this product, saying that it is more suited to an older lady, but I have to disagree. Everyone has body hang-ups whether you're 7 or 70 and this firming cream promises to help tone, lift and comfort some of your problem areas. One aspect I love about Clarins, has to be their devoted usage of plant extracts, making the products smell rather refreshing. The product blends really easily into the skin and unlike most products, it settles well and doesn't leave the skin oily.  We have been given a 30ml sample in this box, which is worth around £5 and I think it's definitely worth the money.

Narciso Rodriguez For Her - Eau De Perfum - From £36 for full size.

I tend to get overly excited over new beauty products, my boyfriend happened to be at my house and I began playing with my Glossybox. From the moment I sprayed this perfume, he told me I needed to wear it more often as it was such a lovely scent, to which I replied: "I agree".  With a mix of orange blossom, honey flower, and vanilla, this scent reminds me of summer and sophistication, conjuring images of beautiful garden parties and romantic cities. You are given a 1ml sample in this box, which I think is a little on the low side and I would have liked a tiny bit more of the product or a selection of perfumes. Being a scent addict, I would love to purchase the full size at some point, as this is definitely a fragrance I would love in my collection.

YSL - Forever Youth Liberator Serum - from £42.00

As much as I love Yves Saint Laurent, I do feel that this product is catered for a slightly older lady, as I would like to think that I'm still experiencing my youthful days, being 20 years old. However, with an ample amount of anti-aging products on the market, I think it may be good to start young and look after my skin. The serum is a 5ml sample and you're told to use this twice a day before you mositurise. Unfortunately, I don't think the product will last that long, but I have discovered a little goes a long way. When applied, my skin feels really soft, slightly rejuvenated and I can see myself developing a love for this product. The serum sample is worth £8.20 and is nearly the cost of the whole box.

Molton Brown Heavenly GingerLily Moisture Bath and Shower - Full size £18

This product is the one that I haven't got round to testing at the moment, but I can assure you that it smells beautiful.

Finally, the Miniature Burberry Lipstick in Rosewood.

If you're looking for a natural hydrating lip colour that lasts, this is one of them. The product applies really smoothly and maintains a soft finish throughout the day. The glam gunmetal case creates a stylish compact lipstick and the words Burberry are embossed at the bottom. The colour seems to be a mixture of brown/pink shades, which fades to dark baby pink later in the day. The full size lipstick is around £23.00 and it's something I'm definitely considering for next payday.

What beauty treats have you received lately?
