Today marked the arrival of my second "Glossy Box" and with expectations rising high, I couldn't wait to have a peak at what was inside.
What resides in the box:
An OPI minature from the Designer series
BIO Effect - EGF Serum
Bastite - Original
Lalique - Perles de lalique
Mama Mio - Omega Body Buff
OPI Nail Varnish
This is probably the product I will be using most often as I love the colour and I like the quality of OPI nail varnishes in general. This glittery pink is really cute and feminine and I think this is probably my favourite sample of all them. The colour is really bright and only needed one application:
Batiste Original
This is definitely the disappointing product out of both glossy boxes I have received. It is not that I don't like Batiste, it is the fact that I could probably go buy one of these for £2 in town and they are not what I would consider as a luxury brand. The idea of ordering the glossy box, from my perspective anyway, was to try out new brands that I couldn't really afford and to give me the taste of the high end market, before I part with what little money I do have. Having this product in the box has really stripped away the high end aspect.
Mama Mio - Body Buff
I quite like the smell of this and the texture feels lovely and light. I could see myself using this product quite often and I'm really happy that they included it in the Glossy Box this time. It smells like chamomile mixed with a hint of lemon sherbet and is used to remove dead skin cells and encourage renewed. I tried a small amount on my hand and it already feels lovely and soft, I can't wait to bring you a full review.
Lalique Perfume
Perfume is always a difficult sample to receive, because everyone's perfume tastes vary so much. Although I do like this sample, it is slightly too musky for me because I prefer sweet scents, but I definitely wear it once or twice to see how I feel later.
Bio Effects - EGF Serum
I haven't had the chance to use this product just yet, but I look forward to using it in the near future.
Final Opinion
I'm 50/50 with this box and now that Glossy Box has confirmed that the prices will be risen by an extra £2, I may have to reconsider my subscription. I will definitely keep with my order until the next box, because the prices won't rise for another two months and I may as well get the remaining boxes while they're still cheaper. Samples seem to be getting increasingly easier to get hold of these days and to be completely honest, I'm not sure whether it is worth spending £10 on a luck dip, compared to putting £10 towards a high end product that you prefer.

I didn't order glossybox myself, but was quite surprised to see batiste dry shampoo in there, its a lovely brand but not high end at all, and you its nothing you wouldn't buy on an everyday trip to boots! x
ReplyDeleteI have read mixed reviews on several blogs on this month's box. I've not subscribed, but not that I've heard the prices are going up, I'm not sure if I want to. Still, the first box seemed like it had lovely items. Love the OPI nail polish here
ReplyDeleteI have subscribed to Glossybox as well. This will be my second box. The first was so stellar it would be hard to top. Although I am quite dissappointed with this month's box. Very average. Well let's hope next month will be better! x
ReplyDeleteI'm quite disappointed, but the nail varnish IS really gorgeous! I've thought of GlossyBox as a way to try stuff I've wanted to try but never have, but I've not heard of ANY of this stuff. Batiste doesn't count ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is interesting but what is a glossy box?
ReplyDeleteAll the best, Angel
Fab review, I too am going to continue with it until the price hike, then decide whether or not its worth it.
ReplyDeleteI do like that we had some different products this time
xx
ooh i had no idea about this glossybox thing, sounds fun! although £10 does sound quite a bit for a lucky dip unless you love all the products :)

I have never tried this glossybox but heard many mixed reviews on twitter the other day! I'm tempted to try it out, for £10 it's not too bad really! Thanks for sharing!
